The NEET 2026 Exam is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026. It will be an offline mode examination application process for which is likely to be initiated in February 2026. The NEET 2026 Admit Card will be released probably in the first week of May 2026.
The NEET 2026 will be conducted to provide admission to candidates to various undergraduate medical, dental, nursing and other allied medical courses across India, such as Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Veterinary Sciences. It will be a paper-pencil-based test (PBT), to be conducted for a duration of three hours.
Although NEET 2025 was conducted in paper-and-pencil-based mode or offline mode, based on the NEET Expert Committee recommendations, there might be changes introduced in NEET 2026.
It can include the following: conducting the exam in a computer-based test (CBT) mode, reviewing the NEET syllabus and pattern, among other changes. The Ministry of Education has asked NTA to review the recommendations and draw an action plan assessing the possibility of implementation in NEET 2026.
A detailed data analysis is being conducted by the committee formed by the Ministry of Education to explore the possibility of shifting NEET UG 2026 to an online mode.
Officials have confirmed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is examining whether a computer-based test can be introduced in the coming years. The exam may also be conducted in multiple days and slots. In that scenario, the concept of normalisation will also have to be implemented.
