Which book should you follow? Which teacher should you trust? How much study material is actually enough? These questions can leave NEET aspirants confused, especially when every source seems to offer a different strategy. Switching between books and teachers can make it harder to stay focused and revise properly.
NEET 2026 ranker Giya Goyal secured AIR 251 with 681/720 marks in her first attempt. In her PW Saarthi interview, she reflected on the preparation choices that shaped her journey, including following her teachers’ guidance, sticking to one source, revising repeatedly, and staying away from distractions. Her mother also shared how hard work and perseverance became important parts of her preparation.
Giya Goyal’s goal of becoming a doctor had a personal connection. Watching her mother, Dr Alpana Goyal, treat patients as a dentist gave her an opportunity to observe the profession closely. This experience became an important part of how her interest in medicine developed.
Her goal therefore grew from seeing the profession around her and gradually developing an interest in becoming a doctor herself.
Giya Goyal’s preparation approach was not about collecting more and more study material. When asked what advice she would give her Class 11 self, she stressed hard work, listening to teachers, and staying with the material recommended by them.
“Mehnat karte raho and apni teachers ki baat suno. Woh tumko best guide karenge.”
She advised students not to keep looking for material from different sources. Instead, she suggested sticking to one source and revising it repeatedly, saying,
“Instead of going for 100 books, do one book 100 times.”
She also shared that this was a common piece of advice she had heard from other NEET toppers.
This approach reflects her focus on consistency rather than constantly changing study resources. For aspirants, the takeaway is to choose reliable guidance and spend more time revising and strengthening what they already study.
Giya Goyal found Physics the most challenging among Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, while Biology came relatively easily to her. Her experience shows that every subject may not feel equally comfortable during NEET preparation, but recognising difficult areas and continuing to work on them can help students make steady progress.
The conversation also touched on her experience with PW faculty. When asked about her favourite PW faculty member MR Sir.
The conversation later brought Giya Goyal’s mother, Dr Alpana Goyal, into the discussion. She highlighted her daughter’s hard-working nature and ability to handle difficulties during her preparation.
Her mother described these qualities in her own words:
“Meri beti mein hard-working hone ki aur har cheez ko tolerate karne ki capacity bahut zyada hai.”
She also spoke about how Giya managed distractions during her NEET preparation. According to her mother, Giya did not have Instagram on her phone, had not used Facebook, did not check WhatsApp messages, and did not watch movies.
Keeping these distractions away helped Giya maintain her focus during a demanding preparation period. Her experience shows that discipline can involve not only following a study routine but also consciously limiting activities that may interrupt preparation.
Giya Goyal’s NEET 2026 preparation culminated in AIR 251 with 681 out of 720 marks in her first attempt. Her journey combined repeated revision, trust in her teachers, focused study material, and a disciplined approach to distractions.
Her result marked an important step towards her goal of becoming a doctor.
Giya Goyal’s journey offers a few practical lessons for NEET aspirants:
Stay with trusted study material: She advised students to follow what their teacher provides instead of constantly searching for new sources.
Revise instead of collecting resources: Her “one book 100 times” advice highlights the importance of repeated revision.
Keep distractions under control: Her mother highlighted how she stayed away from social media, WhatsApp messages, and movies.
Build the ability to handle difficulties: Her mother identified hard work and the ability to tolerate challenges as qualities that stood out in her journey.
Her story shows how clear guidance, repeated revision, discipline, and the willingness to keep working through difficulties can help NEET aspirants stay focused on their preparation and work towards their goals.
