Punjab Announces Free Travel with Guardian Facility

The Punjab government has approved free travel for NEET UG re-exam candidates on Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC buses from June 20 to June 22. One accompanying guardian will also be allowed to travel free along with the student, making Punjab one of the few states extending the benefit to parents as well.

The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 28,000 candidates appearing in the re-examination.

Delhi Provides Free DTC Bus Travel

The Delhi government has announced free travel for NEET UG re-exam candidates on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses on June 21. Students can avail the facility by presenting their admit card while travelling to and from their examination centres.

Odisha Extends Free Bus Service

To ensure smooth movement of candidates across districts, the Odisha government has directed the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) to provide free travel to students appearing for the examination. The move aims to support students from economically weaker sections and those travelling long distances.

Haryana Offers Transportation Support

The Haryana government has reviewed arrangements related to transport and candidate assistance ahead of the examination. Students appearing for the re-test can avail free travel on designated state transport services by showing their admit cards.

Bihar Announces Free Travel for Candidates

The Bihar government has also introduced free travel on government-operated buses for NEET UG 2026 re-exam candidates. Authorities have been instructed to ensure adequate arrangements at major bus stations and transit points to facilitate smooth travel.

Uttarakhand Provides Free Transport Assistance

Students appearing for the NEET UG re-examination in Uttarakhand will be able to use designated government transport services free of cost. The state government has taken the step to reduce travel-related challenges for aspirants.

Andhra Pradesh Joins the List

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has announced free bus travel for NEET UG 2026 re-exam candidates on June 21. Students can avail the facility by presenting their hall ticket while travelling.

Uttar Pradesh Announces 50% Bus Fare Concession

Unlike states offering completely free travel, Uttar Pradesh has announced a 50% concession in bus fares for NEET UG 2026 candidates travelling on Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure smooth transportation arrangements and provide assistance to candidates across examination districts. With over three lakh students expected to appear for the examination from the state, the concession is expected to benefit a large number of aspirants.

Why Are States Offering Travel Support?

The NEET UG 2026 re-examination is being conducted after the earlier examination was cancelled. Since candidates are required to travel again to examination centres, several state governments have introduced transportation support measures to reduce the additional financial burden on students and their families.

Education officials believe these initiatives will help ensure that no candidate misses the examination because of travel-related difficulties.

Documents Required to Avail the Facility

Candidates planning to use the transportation schemes should carry:

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card

  • Valid Photo Identity Proof

  • Any additional document required by the respective transport authority

Students are advised to check local transport department notifications for state-specific instructions before travelling.

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Date

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21, 2026. Candidates should download their admit cards, verify their examination centres, and plan their travel arrangements in advance.
