Check this complete NEET 2026 registration checklist before final submission. Avoid common mistakes in photo upload, category selection, Aadhaar details, documents, and fee payment to prevent rejection of your NEET application form by NTA.
NEET 2026 Registration Checklist Before Final Submission

NEET 2026 Registration Checklist Before Final Submission: Filling the NEET 2026 application form is not just about entering details and paying the fee. With registrations open from 8 February to 8 March 2026 and the correction window available from 10 to 12 March 2026, candidates must be extra careful.

Even small mistakes like wrong photographs, incorrect category selection, Aadhaar mismatch, or incomplete uploads can lead to rejection. Before clicking the final submit button, verify every detail, as only limited fields can be edited during the correction window after fee payment.

NEET 2026 Registration Checklist Before Final Submission

Here is a complete and easy-to-follow checklist you must carefully review before submitting your NEET 2026 application form. This checklist helps you avoid common mistakes in personal details, photograph upload, category selection, document submission, exam city choice, and fee payment that could otherwise lead to rejection of your application by NTA.

1. Check Your Personal Details Carefully

Make sure the following details exactly match your Aadhaar Card / Class 10 Certificate:

  • Candidate’s Name (spelling must be correct)

  • Father’s and Mother’s Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Gender

  • Nationality

  • Category (General / OBC-NCL / SC / ST / EWS)

  • PwBD status (only if applicable)

Any mismatch can create problems during counselling and admission.

2. Keep Correct Identity Proof Ready

You must use one valid ID:

  • Aadhaar Card (recommended by NTA)

  • Passport / PAN Card / DigiLocker / Govt. Photo ID

If Aadhaar details are outdated (photo, name, DOB, address), update them before applying.

3. Verify Mobile Number and Email ID

  • Use your own or your parents’ mobile number and email ID.

  • OTP verification is required.

  • All future updates (Admit Card, Result, Alerts) will be sent here.

Do not use coaching centre contact details.

4. Upload Correct Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression

This is where most students make mistakes.

Photograph rules:

  • Recent passport photo (after 01 Jan 2026)

  • White background

  • 80% face visible, ears visible, no mask

  • JPG format (10 KB – 200 KB)

Signature & Thumb Impression:

  • Clear and readable

  • JPG format as per size mentioned

  • No blurred images

Wrong images can lead to rejection under Unfair Means (UFM).

5. Select the Correct Category

Choose category carefully:

  • OBC-NCL must be from Central List (NCBC website)

  • EWS/SC/ST certificate must be valid

  • Upload correct category certificate in PDF format

Wrong category selection can cancel your reservation benefits during counselling.

6. Academic Details (Class 10 & 12)

  • Enter marks, board name, and year correctly

  • Select correct Qualifying Code:

    • Code 01: Appearing in Class 12 in 2026

    • Code 02–07: Passed candidates

  • Upload Class 10 marksheet and certificate.

7. Choose Exam Cities and Medium Carefully

  • You can select only cities from your present/permanent state

  • Choose 3 cities wisely

  • Question paper medium cannot be changed later

8. Check All Uploaded Documents

Before submission, confirm you uploaded:

  • Photograph

  • Signature

  • Left & Right thumb impression

  • Class 10 certificate and marksheet

  • Category/PwBD certificate (if applicable)

  • Identity proof

  • Address proof

9. Confirm Fee Payment and Confirmation Page

  • Fee payment must show SUCCESS/OK

  • Download and save the Confirmation Page

  • If confirmation page is not generated, your form is incomplete

10. Ensure You Filled Only One Application Form

Filling multiple forms is treated as Unfair Means (UFM) and can lead to:

  • Cancellation of candidature

  • 3-year debarment from NTA exams

  • Legal action

Final Tip from NTA

Once you pay the fee and submit the form, most details become non-editable. So, take 10 minutes to recheck everything before final submission. A careful review today can save you from major problems during admit card, result, or counselling stages.
