The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced stringent verification norms for NEET UG 2026, including Aadhaar-based eKYC and live photo capture. However, technical glitches or manual errors can sometimes lead to a discrepancy where the photo on your admit card does not match the one you uploaded during registration. Since the admit card is your "entry ticket" to the medical profession, any mismatch can lead to stress at the exam center.
For the 2026 cycle, NTA requires two types of photographs: a passport-size and a postcard-size (4”x6”) image. These must have a white background, 80% face coverage, and be taken on or after January 1, 2026. The new "Live Photo Capture" system matches your real-time image with your Aadhaar database. If there is a "Gross Difference" in appearance, your application could face rejection or scrutiny during the biometric verification at the center.
If you notice that the printed photo on your NEET Admit Card 2026 is different from the one in your confirmation page, follow these steps:
NTA usually provides a one-time correction window (scheduled for March 10–12, 2026). If you identified the error early, you can re-upload the correct, high-resolution image during this period. Ensure the file is between 10 KB to 200 KB in JPG/JPEG format.
If the correction window has closed, immediately email NTA at neetug2026@nta.ac.in or call their helpline at 011-40759000. Attach your application form and a clear copy of the correct photograph as proof of the discrepancy.
According to the NEET 2026 Information Bulletin, candidates facing identity mismatches (especially between live photos and Aadhaar) must download Annexure-VI. You must paste your correct photograph on this certificate and get it attested by a School Principal or a Class-I Gazetted Officer. Carrying this attested document to the exam hall serves as valid proof of identity.
To avoid disqualification due to photo issues, ensure you carry:
A printed color copy of the NEET Admit Card with the photo pasted.
One additional Passport-size photograph (same as uploaded).
One Postcard-size (4”x6”) photograph pasted on the Proforma.
Valid original Photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID).
