NTA has raised the bar of NEET UG cut off this year. The National Testing Agency has released the NEET Cut off 2023 on its official website. The range of NEET UG cut off is 720 to 137 for the general category and 136 to 107 for OBC/SC/ST.
The cut off is the minimum mark required for the candidates to qualify for the exam. It is of two type, qualifying cut-off and admission cut-off. The qualifying cut off is the minimum required mark to clear the exam and the admission cut off is the last rank at which admission is allowed in a particular college. NEET Cut Off 2023 Tie Breaking Process
In the event of a tie between two or more candidates in terms of their NEET cutoff qualifying scores, specific tie-breaking criteria will be employed. It is important to note that for NEET 2023, the previously used age-based tie-breaking method has been eliminated. Instead, the following steps, listed in order of preference, will be utilized to resolve ties and establish the NEET merit list:
Higher marks in Biology
- Candidates with higher scores or percentiles in the Biology section (including Botany and Zoology) will be given priority in the merit list.
Higher marks in Chemistry
- If the tie persists, the candidate's marks or percentiles in the Chemistry section will be taken into consideration.
Number of incorrect answers
- If the tie remains unresolved, preference will be given to candidates who have attempted fewer incorrect answers and more correct answers.
