NEET 2027 Eligibility for Foreign Board Students

If you've completed your qualifying examination from a foreign board, you can apply for NEET 2027 provided you meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by NTA.

To be eligible:

  • Pass Class 12 or an equivalent examination: You should have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification recognised for NEET admissions.

  • Study the required subjects: Your qualifying examination must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

  • Meet the minimum qualifying marks: You should obtain at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).

  • Submit an AIU Equivalency Certificate: You must provide an Equivalency Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) during the admission process, where applicable.

NEET 2027 Eligibility for NRI, OCI, and PIO Candidates

NEET eligibility also includes overseas applicants such as NRIs and OCI candidates.

Non-Resident Indian (NRI)

Indian citizens residing abroad for more than 183 days in a financial year. NRI candidates must submit an NRI Certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in their country of residence.

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)

OCI cardholders are eligible for a wider range of seats as per recent judicial guidelines. However, some state-level restrictions may still apply during the admission process.

Person of Indian Origin (PIO)

The PIO category has been merged with the OCI category for NEET admissions.

 

Eligibility for Foreign Nationals in NEET 2027

Foreign nationals are also eligible to appear for NEET 2027.

  • Upload a valid foreign passport: Submit a scanned copy of your valid foreign passport during the registration process.

  • Provide proof of citizenship: Alternatively, you can upload a Citizenship Certificate issued by the competent authority of your home country.

  • Apply under the applicable quota: Foreign nationals are generally eligible for admission under the NRI/Foreign quota.

  • Follow admission guidelines: You must comply with the admission rules prescribed by the respective state governments and institutions.

  • Check participating institutions: Admissions are generally available in private and deemed universities.
