NEET Exam Centre Instructions 2026: NEET is a national-level medical entrance examination scheduled to be organised on May 3, 2026. Students who are willing to pursue the MBBS/BDS/Ayurvedic-related course programs. They need to appear for the NEET exam. NTA has set the NEET exam centre instructions 2026 for the students. It is related to the entry procedure at the exam centre, biometric verification, and exam hall rules. 

Entry Procedure at Exam Centre

• Reach Early: Students should arrive at the centre when the gates open at 11:00 AM to avoid any rush.

• Strict Deadline: The entry gates close exactly at 1:30 PM. No student is allowed inside after this time.

• Document Check: You must show your Admit Card and a valid photo ID (like an Aadhaar Card) to the guards.

• Security Search: Every student must go through "frisking," which is a body search using metal detectors to check for banned items.

Biometric Verification Process

• Biometric Check: Staff will scan your fingerprints or take a digital photo to confirm your identity.

• Specific Seats: You must sit only on the seat that displays your specific roll number.

• No Early Exit: No student is permitted to leave the examination hall until the full exam time ends at 5:00 PM.

Seating & Exam Hall Rules

Students need to follow the NEET exam hall rules to appear for the exam. 

• Find the Seat: Every student is given a specific seat. The student must sit only on the chair that has their roll number on it.

• No Changing Seats: They are not allowed to change their seat or rooms. If a student sits somewhere else, their exam may be cancelled.

• Keep Quiet: They must remain completely silent inside the hall. Talking to another student is strictly forbidden.

• No Sharing: Students cannot borrow or share anything, such as water bottles or stationery, with another student.

• Attendance Sheet: Students must sign the attendance sheet and paste their photograph on it when the staff asks.

• Exam Timing: Students can only start writing when the invigilator says "start" and must stop immediately when told.

• Stay Until the End: The student is not allowed to leave the exam room for any reason until the full exam time is over at 5:00 PM.

• Hand Over Papers: Before leaving the hall, the student must hand over the OMR sheet to the invigilator. The student is only allowed to take the Test Booklet.

COVID/Safety Guidelines (if applicable)

Even though things are back to normal, safety is still a priority. 

• The exam centres are cleaned and sanitised before the test.

•  Students are allowed to carry a small, transparent bottle of hand sanitiser if they wish.

• They may also carry a transparent water bottle.

•  If there are any specific health rules, like wearing a mask, the invigilators will inform the students.

•  It is always good to follow these simple steps to stay healthy and keep others safe.

Important Instructions by NTA

• Admit Card & Proforma: Carry a clear color printout of all pages, including the Postcard Size (4"x6") photo pasted on the proforma.

• Photos: Bring additional passport-size photographs (same as uploaded) to be pasted on the attendance sheet.

• Original ID: A valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, or Voter ID) is mandatory; photocopies are not allowed.

• Dress Code (Top): Wear light-colored, half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts only; long sleeves or large buttons are prohibited.

• Dress Code (Bottom): Choose simple trousers or pants; avoid leggings, cargo pants with multiple pockets, or heavy embroidery.

• Footwear: Wear slippers or low-heeled sandals only; shoes and boots are strictly forbidden.

• Jewellery & Metal: Do not wear any jewellery (rings, earrings, nose pins, necklaces) or metallic items like belts and hair clips.

• Prohibited Items: No electronic devices, smartwatches, calculators, wallets, handbags, or stationery (pens will be provided at the center).

• Reporting Time: Arrive early as per your specific slot; the gate closes strictly at 1:30 PM for the 2:00 PM exam.

• Customary Dress: Candidates wearing religious attire must report by 12:30 PM for manual security frisking.

• Water & Health: Only a transparent water bottle is allowed; diabetic candidates may carry fruits/sugar tablets with prior approval.

• Attendance: Cooperate with mandatory biometric authentication and face scanning at the entry point.

• Submission: Hand over the original OMR sheet and the admit card to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.
