NEET UG 2026 Marking Scheme

The NEET UG examination includes a specific marking scheme that directly impacts a candidate's final score. It is important to know how marks are awarded and deducted to avoid errors.

  • For each correct answer, candidates are awarded 4 marks.

  • One mark is deducted for every incorrect attempt.

  • There is no penalty for questions that are not attempted.

  • Answers once marked on the OMR sheet cannot be changed. Marking more than one option for a single question will also result in negative marking.
    Yes, the NEET UG exam includes negative marking. For each question answered incorrectly, 1/4th of the marks (1 mark) will be deducted.
