NEET Success Story: PW Student Abdur Rahim's Journey to AIR 7165

Some NEET journeys are not just about books and mock tests. They are about holding on to a dream even when life keeps pulling it away. Abdur Rahim, from Purnia, Bihar, had to face many challenges while preparing for NEET. His father passed away when he was in Class 11, and he later faced serious health problems that affected his studies. 

Despite these difficulties, he continued preparing for NEET with the support of his family. His preparation also included Physics Wallah's lectures and test series. Later, he continued using PW lectures and tests whenever his health allowed him to study. 

After facing these challenges for several years, Abdur Rahim secured AIR 7165 in NEET, making the result a special moment for him and his family.

Abdur Rahim’s Academic Beginnings at AMU

Abdur Rahim completed his early schooling in his hometown before being selected for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) through an entrance examination in Class 5.

"Meri basic schooling mere hometown mein hui, uske baad mera AMU mein selection ho gaya fifth class mein entrance ke baad."

He studied at AMU from Class 5 to Class 10 and appeared for his board examinations. During this period, he also appeared for the first stage of NTSE. He had already heard about Alakh Sir and his teaching style, which later became familiar to him through his preparation.

How Abdur Rahim Continued After Losing His Father

Abdur Rahim's preparation changed significantly when he entered Class 11. Within one or two months, he lost his father.

"11th mein jaise hi bas entry thi meri, ek do mahine hue to mere father expire kar gaye."

After his father's death, Abdur returned from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar. For the next five to seven months, he struggled to understand what was happening with his studies. His family eventually sent him back to AMU to complete Class 12.

Alongside Class 12, he continued preparing for NEET. However, because he had missed much of Class 11, he felt that his preparation was incomplete. Although he received a seat in a local government medical college, he decided to take a drop and prepare again, believing that he could perform better.

Abdur Rahim’s Fresh Start with PW’s Yakeen 2.0

After completing Class 12, Abdur returned home and began preparing for NEET again with Physics Wallah's Yakeen 2.0 batch. 

"Main to achha deserve karta tha jahan tak apni performance ke basis pe, to phir maine wahi drop lene ka socha."

He used PW lectures to study different NEET subjects and worked towards completing the syllabus. He also appeared for tests as part of his preparation. His scores included 700+ in an RTS test and 675 in a Mega Test. In an earlier NEET attempt, he had also scored 705 marks.

These scores showed that his preparation was progressing well before another major challenge affected his studies.

How Abdur Rahim Continued Preparing Despite Illness

By February, Abdur Rahim had almost completed his syllabus when his health problems became serious.

"Fir humko vomiting hone lag jata hai bahut, poori padhai shut down ho chuka."

He started vomiting frequently, so his family took him for blood tests and an ultrasound. The tests showed liver cirrhosis with Grade 3 fatty liver. His studies came to a stop, but he still appeared for NEET that year. He expected a low score and did not even check his result at first.

Motherly Encouragement that Inspired Abdur Rahim Before NEET Exam

While Abdur Rahim was dealing with his health problems, his mother was also facing her own health issue. She had a 19 mm gallbladder stone, but she still wanted Abdur to appear for NEET and not lose another year.

"Mummy sochi ki ab is baar to paper ho jaaye bachche ka, teen saal to aise hi ho gaye."

Abdur Rahim had not studied or taken any mock tests since his previous NEET attempt in May. His mother continued to encourage him to appear for the exam. Finally, he decided to appear for it because of his mother.

Even during this difficult phase, Abdur Rahim stayed connected with his preparation. His family remained in touch with the PW Vidyapeeth centre in Purnia, and he watched Utthan lectures and short revision videos whenever his health allowed.

"Jis waqt tabiyat sahi rehta tha, Saturday ko test deta tha, ismein bhi achha perform karta tha."

Since he could not study for long hours, Abdur Rahim used shorter revision videos and took tests when he felt well. He continued preparing whenever his health allowed him to study.

Abdur Rahim's NEET Result and His Father's Dream

Abdur Rahim eventually secured AIR 7165 and a Bihar state rank of 610 in NEET. His result became an emotional moment for his family, especially as his mother was recovering from surgery.

Expressing his gratitude, Abdur said:

"Sabse pehle to main PW ke sabhi shikshak gan ka tahe dil se shukriya ada karna chahta hoon."

He also shared that becoming a doctor was his late father's dream for one of his sons. His brother was present to celebrate the result with him and recited a few lines of poetry, making the achievement even more meaningful for the family.

Abdur Rahim’s Story Shows the Importance of Staying Focused

Abdur Rahim's journey shows that a difficult preparation phase does not necessarily have to end a student's aspirations. After losing his father, facing serious health problems, and dealing with challenges at home, he continued preparing whenever circumstances allowed. 

His AIR 7165 reflects not a perfect preparation journey, but one marked by persistence, family support, and the determination to keep moving forward.
