Scoring well in NEET while preparing for another competitive exam is not easy. Harshit Mehta managed to do both in his Class 12 year. In his first NEET attempt, he scored 650 out of 720 and secured AIR 1447. Alongside NEET, he also appeared for JEE Main and scored 98.6+ percentile, with 99+ percentile in both Physics and Chemistry.
Harshit’s preparation with PW started in Class 11 when he joined the Arjuna batch. He also relied on older PW lectures from 2021 when he found them useful for strengthening difficult concepts. His journey shows how consistent learning and the willingness to use the right resources can help students prepare for multiple competitive exams together.
Harshit did not limit his preparation to NEET. While studying in Class 12, he also appeared for JEE Main.
He shared:
“This was my very first attempt. Maine JEE Main bhi diya tha 12th ke saath hi aur 12th ke saath hi NEET bhi crack kiya hai.”
His performance in both exams was strong. He scored 650/720 in NEET and secured AIR 1447. In JEE Main, he scored 98.6+ percentile, including 99+ percentile in Physics and Chemistry.
Managing two entrance exams alongside Class 12 required him to maintain a strong understanding of the core concepts rather than preparing for each exam in complete isolation.
Harshit started his PW journey in Class 11 with the Arjuna batch. During this phase, he followed PW teachers and used their lectures to build his concepts.
He particularly remembered following MR Sir's lectures from the 2021 Arjuna batch.
“Jab 11th mein maine Arjuna liya tha, tab maine MR Sir ke 2021 ke lectures ko follow kiya tha.”
Even though MR Sir did not teach the Arjuna batch in the following years, Harshit continued using the older lectures available in PW's Khazana when he needed them.
Instead of focusing only on the latest lectures, Harshit looked for lectures that explained concepts clearly and used them according to his preparation needs.
He said:
“Uske baad sir ne Arjuna nahi padhaya, toh maine Khazana se 2021 ke lectures dekhe the.”
For Harshit, the usefulness of a lecture mattered more than the year in which it was recorded. If an older lecture helped him understand a difficult topic, he was comfortable going back to it.
This approach allowed him to use PW's existing learning resources according to his own preparation requirements.
One of the lectures Harshit specifically remembered was a thermodynamics class.
He said:
“There was one class of thermodynamics jo 4 hours 15 minutes plus gayi thi. Like, that was the longest class.”
The length of the class did not stop him from using it as a learning resource. His focus remained on understanding the topic properly, particularly when dealing with concepts that required detailed explanation.
Harshit's preparation for NEET also helped him perform well in JEE Main, especially in Physics and Chemistry.
He scored 99+ percentile in both Physics and Chemistry in JEE Main. His strong performance in these subjects reflects the importance of building concepts that can be applied across different competitive exams.
Rather than treating NEET and JEE Main preparation as completely separate, he was able to use his subject preparation for both examinations.
After preparing throughout Class 11 and 12, Harshit appeared for NEET for the first time.
His result was:
NEET Score: 650/720
All India Rank: 1447
Attempt: First
JEE Main Percentile: 98.6+
Physics & Chemistry Percentile in JEE Main: 99+
His first-attempt result shows that a focused preparation strategy can help students perform well without needing multiple attempts.
Harshit's preparation was not limited to following only the newest material. He used the resources available to him and went back to older lectures whenever they helped him understand a topic better.
His experience also highlights the importance of building strong concepts during Class 11 rather than waiting until Class 12 to start serious preparation.
From following Arjuna in Class 11 to using Khazana lectures for difficult topics, Harshit created a preparation approach that suited his learning needs.
Harshit Mehta's journey from Class 11 preparation to a 650/720 score and AIR 1447 in NEET shows what consistent preparation can achieve. At the same time, he managed to score 98.6+ percentile in JEE Main, with 99+ percentile in Physics and Chemistry.
His story is especially relevant for students preparing for both NEET and JEE because it shows that strong fundamentals can support preparation for multiple competitive exams. His experience with PW's Arjuna batch and Khazana lectures helped him access resources according to his needs and stay focused on his goals.
