NEET UG 2026 Counselling Provisions for All India Quota: Admission to undergraduate AYUSH courses such as BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS will be done only through the NEET UG 2026 in all institutes(manual/direct admissions). For AIQ seats, Counselling is being conducted centrally by the Medical Counselling Committee to ensure transparency in admission, merit-based uniform selection, and observance of reservation policies.
Counselling provisions are under the NCISM Act, 2020, and NCH Act, 2020, and separate authorities deal with AIQ and State quota admissions.
Admission to AIQ seats in AYUSH courses will be strictly based on an All India Merit List prepared using the All India Rank (AIR) of NEET (UG) 2026.
Only candidates who qualify for NEET UG 2026 and are included in this merit list will be eligible for admission to:
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS)
Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
All admissions will follow the existing Government of India reservation policy applicable to AIQ seats.
The responsibility of seat allotment is divided based on the type of institution and the quota:
Counselling for AIQ seats in the following institutions will be conducted by the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) under the Ministry of AYUSH:
Government AYUSH Colleges
Government-aided Institutes
Central Universities
National Institutes
Deemed to be Universities
For Private AYUSH Institutes under AIQ, counselling will be conducted by an authority designated by the Central Government.
Counselling for State quota seats will be conducted by the respective State Government or UT counselling authorities, as per NCISM and NCH regulations.
Candidates must be extremely careful while filling out their NEET (UG)-2026 online application. The data provided to the NTA—specifically candidate category, phone number, and email ID—will be the "final" data used by the AACCC for AIQ counselling.
Important Note: The counselling authority will not entertain any requests for changes in the candidate's category once the AIQ counselling process begins.
Furthermore, while the NTA conducts the entrance exam, it holds no responsibility regarding the actual counselling or admission process for these specific AYUSH courses.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible only for conducting NEET UG 2026.
NTA has no role or responsibility in:
AYUSH counselling
Seat allotment
Admission process
All counselling-related matters are handled by designated AYUSH authorities.
