NEET UG 2026 Re-Test Security Measures: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has significantly strengthened security arrangements for the NEET UG 2026 re-test, which is scheduled to be conducted on June 21. The move follows concerns raised after the earlier examination and is aimed at ensuring a smooth, transparent, and malpractice-free process for medical aspirants.
Officials have put in place a comprehensive security framework covering every stage of the examination, from question paper preparation to candidate verification at exam centres. The re-test will be conducted across hundreds of centres in India and selected international locations under heightened surveillance.
To prevent impersonation and unauthorized access, exam centres will operate under a strict three-tier security system. Candidates will be required to pass through multiple checkpoints before entering the examination venue.
Security personnel, local administration officials, and examination authorities will jointly oversee the process to ensure compliance with all guidelines. NEET UG 2026 will be held in offline mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM across 551 Indian cities and 14 cities outside the country.
NTA is also relying on technology-driven monitoring to maintain transparency. Examination venues will be equipped with biometric attendance systems, facial recognition tools, and CCTV cameras for continuous surveillance.
Live footage from centres will be monitored by officials through a central control mechanism, allowing authorities to identify and address any irregularities promptly. Dedicated teams are also keeping watch on digital platforms to counter rumours and misleading information related to the examination.
Special precautions have been taken to protect the confidentiality of the question paper. Individuals involved in setting, reviewing, and translating the paper have reportedly been accommodated at a secure location with restricted communication access.
As part of the security protocol, they are not allowed to use mobile phones or internet-enabled devices during the paper preparation process. Authorities are also exploring secure transportation methods for question papers to ensure they reach centres safely and without compromise.
With more than 22 lakh candidates expected to appear, the agency has emphasized that the enhanced measures are designed to safeguard the credibility of the examination and provide a fair opportunity to all participants.
The June 21 re-test is likely to be among the most closely monitored national-level entrance examinations conducted in recent years.
