Seat allocation under AIQ strictly follows the Central Government reservation norms, ensuring social inclusion and equal educational opportunities for candidates from reserved categories.
For the 15% All India Quota seats which include Government colleges, Government-aided institutions, National Institutes, and Central Universities—the Central Government's reservation policy is strictly implemented.

Note on EWS: The 10% EWS reservation is subject to conditions specified in OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019. Candidates must ensure their family income and asset certificates align with these central guidelines.
For seats other than the minimum 15% All India Quota, counselling is conducted under State Quota.

Category percentages, sub-categories, and domicile rules may vary from state to state
Candidates are advised to carefully check state counselling brochures before applying.
While the AIQ handles 15% of seats, the remaining 85% State Quota seats fall under the jurisdiction of the respective State Governments.
Central Policy: Applies only to the 15% AIQ and 100% seats of Central Universities/National Institutes.
State Policy: The reservation rules (including sub-categories like MBC, SEBC, or Female quotas) of the concerned State Government apply to all seats outside the AIQ.
Candidates are advised to keep their category certificates (issued by competent authorities) updated and valid as per the 2026-27 financial year requirements to avoid disqualification during the AACCC or State counselling process.
