NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Scribe Registration Last Date Today

The clock is ticking for thousands of differently-abled NEET aspirants across India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the scribe registration window for PwBD candidates from June 9 to June 12, 2026 (11:50 PM) — and today is the final day to act.

PwD and PwBD aspirants who require a scribe during the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination must submit their details by June 12, 2026, at 11:50 PM. This is a non-negotiable, one-time window — missing it could mean appearing for one of India's toughest entrance exams without critical support.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), in coordination with the Central Government, cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3, 2026, following serious allegations of a question paper leak. NTA has now officially confirmed June 21, 2026 (Sunday) as the Re-NEET 2026 exam date. Eligible PwD/PwBD candidates must complete scribe registration today — no extension has been announced.

Latest Update: NEET UG 2026 Scribe Registration Closes Tonight at 11:50 PM — Act Now

The National Testing Agency officially opened a dedicated portal for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) on June 9, 2026, to submit scribe details ahead of the Re-NEET 2026 exam.

This is a very short registration window — candidates should complete the submission before the deadline, as waiting until the last few hours is risky due to possible login issues, server delays, or internet problems

Key facts at a glance:

  • Portal opened: June 9, 2026
  • Portal closes: June 12, 2026, 11:50 PM — Tonight
  • Re-NEET 2026 Exam date: June 21, 2026
  • Admit card release: Expected June 14, 2026 (not yet officially confirmed)
  • Mode: Pen and Paper

How to Register Scribe Details for NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam: Step-by-Step Guide

The National Testing Agency has made the online process straightforward. Follow these steps to complete scribe registration:

  1. Visit the official NEET portal — Go to neet.nta.nic.in
  2. Log in — Use your registered application number and password.
  3. Locate the scribe button — On your candidate dashboard, click "Register Scribe Details." This button will only be visible to eligible candidates — if you do not see it, you either did not opt for it earlier or are not in the PwD/PwBD category.
  4. Select scribe facility — Choose your preferred scribe option from the available choices.
  5. Fill in scribe details — Enter the scribe's complete and accurate information as required.
  6. Review carefully — Double-check all entries before final submission.
  7. Submit — Click submit and wait for the confirmation screen.
  8. Verify submission — Once submitted, the details can be checked by clicking "View Application Form" on the left side of the page or on the final confirmation page
  9. Save confirmation — Download or screenshot the confirmation for future reference.

Who Is Eligible for Scribe Facility in NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam?

The PwBD scribe registration facility is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria defined by NTA. Broadly, this includes:

  • Candidates with locomotor disability affecting writing ability
  • Candidates with visual impairment (low vision or blindness)
  • Candidates with other benchmark disabilities that prevent independent writing

The candidate must have already opted for the scribe facility during the original NEET UG 2026 application form submission. If this was not opted for at the time of original registration, the scribe registration button will not be visible.

Important Instructions for Candidates: Do Not Miss These

  • Do not postpone registration to the last moment — register early to prevent technical issues.
  • The scribe registration portal closes at 11:50 PM tonight (June 12) — no extension has been announced.
  • Only candidates who pre-selected the scribe option in their original application are eligible to use this portal.
  • Once submitted, the scribe details will be reflected in the "View Application Form" section for verification.
  • Waiting until the last few hours is risky due to login issues, server delays, document confusion, or internet problems.
  • Do not share your login credentials with anyone.
  • Keep a printed copy of your scribe registration confirmation for exam day.
  • For technical issues, contact NTA's official helpdesk — do not rely on third-party portals.

Re-NEET UG 2026: Background — Why Was the Original Exam Cancelled?

The National Testing Agency, in coordination with the Central Government, cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3, 2026, following serious allegations of a coordinated question paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR under provisions related to criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust, and destruction of evidence.

Millions of medical aspirants across India were impacted by the cancellation, with over 22.79 lakh registered students affected.

No fresh registration is required for the re-exam; fees will be fully refunded, and fresh admit cards will be released by June 14, 2026. All candidates from the original May 3 exam will automatically appear for Re-NEET on June 21.

What Happens Next? Key Steps After Scribe Registration

  • Admit Card: NTA has urged candidates to stay updated through official websites for the latest announcements regarding the admit card release. It is expected around June 14.
  • Exam City Intimation: NTA released the exam city intimation slip for the Re-NEET UG 2026 re-examination — the slip shows only the city, not the exact centre. Candidates who haven't downloaded it should do so from neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Re-NEET Exam: Scheduled for June 21, 2026 (Sunday) in pen-and-paper mode.
  • The NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam candidates shall be allotted a total time of 3 hours and 15 minutes — 15 minutes more than the previous examination.

In 2024, NEET UG faced a similar controversy. NTA reconducted NEET 2024 on June 23, 2024, for affected candidates — the re-exam was held roughly six weeks after the original exam date. The 2026 timeline mirrors this precedent closely, with Re-NEET 2026 scheduled approximately seven weeks after the cancelled May 3 exam.

The scribe portal mechanism — opening 3–5 days before the exam-related deadline — is consistent with NTA's standard process for PwD accommodations across its major examinations.
