NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: With the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a series of important advisories covering admit cards, official communications, biometric verification, exam centre changes, and dress code guidelines. The agency has also cautioned students against fake messages and online scams circulating ahead of the examination.
NTA has clarified that candidates who have already downloaded their June 21 admit cards do not need to download them again. The recent SMS, email, and WhatsApp reminders are primarily intended for students who have not yet downloaded their revised hall tickets.
The agency reiterated that the May 3 admit cards are no longer valid, as many candidates have been allotted new examination centres in their preferred cities. Students are advised to carry only the revised admit card issued for the June 21 re-examination.
To improve communication with candidates, NTA has started sending examination updates and centre-related information through its verified WhatsApp account.
Students have been advised to trust messages only from the verified number +91 78279 80287 displaying the name National Testing Agency along with the blue verification badge.
NTA clarified that its WhatsApp account is a broadcast-only channel. It will never ask candidates to reply, share OTPs or personal information, or make any payment.
NTA is also sending reminder SMS and emails to candidates regarding admit card downloads.
According to the agency:
Official SMS messages will come from sender ID NICPEP
Official emails will be sent from no-reply.neet.nta@nic.in
The only official website for NEET UG is neet.nta.nic.in
The agency has warned candidates not to trust links shared through forwarded messages or social media posts.
NTA has once again emphasised that it will never:
Ask candidates for any payment
Send question papers, answer keys, or "leaked" materials
Share admit cards through links sent via messages
Candidates receiving suspicious communications have been advised to report them through the NEET complaint portal, the national cybercrime portal, or by calling the cyber fraud helpline number 1930.
NTA has also announced a change of venue for candidates allotted to the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Cultural Centre, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj.
Due to ongoing construction work and electricity-related issues, the examination will now be conducted at the Department of Medieval and Modern History, Senate House Campus, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj.
Fresh admit cards have been issued to affected candidates. However, NTA clarified that students carrying admit cards bearing the old centre details will also be permitted to appear at the new venue after due verification.
As part of enhanced security arrangements, all candidates will undergo biometric verification after frisking and before entering the examination hall.
The agency has also announced an exception protocol. If biometric verification cannot be completed because of hardware issues, poor biometric quality, connectivity problems with UIDAI servers, or a physical inability to provide biometric data, candidates will still be allowed to take the examination.
Such candidates will be required to submit a written undertaking at the examination centre.
NTA further clarified that candidates will not be disturbed during the active examination period for biometric processing. Any pending verification process will be completed either before the exam begins or after it concludes.
The agency has advised candidates to follow the prescribed dress code and cooperate with security procedures.
Candidates are permitted to carry:
Transparent water bottles
Admit cards in transparent plastic pouches
Articles of faith, including turbans, hijabs, and religious symbols, subject to additional frisking
Light clothing is preferred. However, full-sleeve garments and woollen clothing will also be permitted if candidates report early for security checks.
Slippers and low-heeled footwear are recommended. High-heeled footwear may attract additional scrutiny.
Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, metallic items, heavy jewellery, and large belt buckles are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Eligible PwD and PwBD candidates entitled to compensatory time will be allowed to write the examination until 6:20 PM.
NTA has advised candidates to report to their centres well in advance and cooperate fully with examination staff to ensure the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of the re-examination.
