The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET (UG) 2026 Result on 16 July 2026, keeping the medical admission schedule on track for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.Sc. Nursing, and other undergraduate medical courses.

According to the official NTA data, close to 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination held on 21 June 2026, and 11.21 lakh candidates qualified. The examination was conducted at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 international cities in 13 languages.

NTA data also shows:

  • 19 candidates scored 700 or above.
  • 138 candidates scored 690 or above.
  • More than 93% of candidates scoring above 690 were appearing for NEET for the first time.
  • Around 99% of the top scorers were between 17 and 19 years of age.

Counselling After NEET UG 2026 Result

NTA prepares the All India Rank (AIR) and declares the result. The counselling process is conducted separately by designated authorities.

  • Medical Counselling Committee (MCC): All India Quota MBBS and BDS counselling.
  • State Counselling Authorities: State quota admissions.
  • AACCC: AYUSH counselling for BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSMS.

Candidates should refer only to the official counselling portals for updates and seat allotment schedules.

NTA Advisory

The National Testing Agency has warned candidates against fraudulent calls, emails, websites, or messages claiming to offer admission, improve scores, or reserve seats in exchange for money. NTA does not contact candidates asking for payments or confidential information.
