NEET UG 2026 Result Declared: 11.21 Lakh Candidates Qualify, Official NTA Data

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET (UG) 2026 Result on 16 July 2026, keeping the medical admission schedule on track for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, B.Sc. Nursing, and other undergraduate medical courses.

According to the official NTA data, close to 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination held on 21 June 2026, and 11.21 lakh candidates qualified. The examination was conducted at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 international cities in 13 languages.

NEET UG 2026 Toppers

The highest score in NEET UG 2026 is 715 out of 720, jointly secured by:

• Aryan Gupta (Punjab) – 715/720
• Panshul Bansal (Haryana) – 715/720

NTA data also shows:

• 19 candidates scored 700 or above.
• 138 candidates scored 690 or above.
• More than 93% of candidates scoring above 690 were appearing for NEET for the first time.
• Around 99% of the top scorers were between 17 and 19 years of age.

More Than 58% Qualified Candidates Are Women

Women continue to account for the majority of successful candidates in NEET UG 2026.

According to NTA:

• More than 58% of qualified candidates are women.
• 56.8% of female candidates who appeared qualified.
• 55.1% of male candidates qualified.

Category-Wise Qualified Candidates

The category-wise cut-off marks and percentile have also been released by NTA along with the result.

Candidates qualified from all 36 States and Union Territories.

• 17 State Toppers scored 700 or above.
• 26 State Toppers scored 690 or above.
• The 138 candidates scoring above 690 belong to 66 cities across India.

Counselling After NEET UG 2026 Result

NTA prepares the All India Rank (AIR) and declares the result. The counselling process is conducted separately by designated authorities.

• Medical Counselling Committee (MCC): All India Quota MBBS and BDS counselling.
• State Counselling Authorities: State quota admissions.
• AACCC: AYUSH counselling for BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, and BSMS.

Candidates should refer only to the official counselling portals for updates and seat allotment schedules.
