The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important update regarding the NEET 2026 refund process. In an official notification shared through its social media channels, NTA clarified that refunds will be credited directly to candidates' verified bank accounts. The agency also warned students about ongoing refund-related scams and announced that candidates facing bank verification issues will get another chance to update their details after the examination.
All candidates will receive their refund directly into the bank account/refund details updated by them on the official portal..
Candidates are advised to ensure their refund details on the portal are accurate and up to date to avoid raudulent calls, messages, or links claiming to "expedite" or "verify" your refund. NTA never asks for OTPs, passwords, UPI PINs, or any payment to process a refund.
Those who are facing issues in updating bank details or filled incorrect information, will get another chance after the examination to fill correct details.
For any queries, candidates may contact the official NTA helpdesk.neet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in
NTA has confirmed that refunds will be transferred directly to candidates' verified bank accounts. Check the update highlights here-

Fake links sent by SMS, email, WhatsApp, or Telegram that look similar to official sites.
Requests for OTP, password, UPI PIN, or bank login details.
Claims that your refund will be delayed unless you pay a fee, charge, or verification amount.
Messages asking you to change bank details on unofficial pages.
Social media posts or calls promising fast-track refund help.
Misspelled websites, poor grammar, or links that do not match the official NTA domain.

The safest approach is to trust only the official exam portal, and never share banking or login details with anyone. NTA has also warned candidates not to respond to fraudulent calls, texts, or emails related to refunds.
