
Photo and Signature Upload Guidelines for NEET 2026: NEET (UG) 2026 registration has officially started from 8 February to 8 March 2026, with the correction window open from 10 to 12 March 2026. While filling the form, uploading the correct photograph, signature, and thumb impressions is crucial.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued strict image guidelines, and any mistake can lead to rejection or Unfair Means action. Candidates must follow the official instructions carefully to ensure a successful application submission.
While filling out the NEET (UG) 2026 application form, uploading the correct photograph, signature, and finger/thumb impressions is one of the most important steps. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued strict rules regarding image specifications.
If a candidate uploads unclear, incorrect, or fabricated images, the application may be rejected and can even be treated as an Unfair Means (UFM) case. Therefore, candidates must carefully follow the official image upload instructions to avoid rejection of their NEET 2026 application.
Candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph taken on or after 01 January 2026. Key rules for photograph:
The photo must be in JPG/JPEG format
File size: 10 KB to 200 KB
Background should be plain white
80% of the photo must show the candidate’s face, including ears
Face should be clearly visible without a mask
The photograph can be color or black & white
Spectacles are allowed only if regularly used
Polaroid or computer-generated photos are not allowed
The photo must not be blurred, dark, or distorted
The same photograph must be used later for the attendance sheet, counselling, and admission.
NTA also requires candidates to keep 6–8 passport-size and 4–6 postcard-size (4”×6”) copies of the same photograph for future use.
Additionally, during the application process, candidates must capture a live photograph using a webcam or mobile camera. This live photo will be matched with the Aadhaar database for identity verification.
Candidates must upload their own clear and original signature while filling the NEET 2026 application form.

It must not be in capital letters
Blurred or unclear signatures may lead to rejection

NTA has issued strict warnings regarding the upload of photographs, signatures, and finger/thumb impressions in the NEET 2026 application form:
Uploading someone else’s photo, signature, or impressions will be treated as Unfair Means (UFM)
Morphed, edited, hand-made, or computer-generated images are strictly prohibited
No correction facility will be given later for the photo, signature, or impressions
Applications without proper images will be rejected
Criminal action may be taken in serious cases
Take the photograph in good lighting against a white background
Scan images clearly using a scanner or a high-quality mobile camera
Check file size before uploading
Do not crop the face too much
Use the same photo for all NEET-related processes
