PwBD & Scribe Certificate Rules for NEET 2026 are important for candidates applying under the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities category and for those who need a scribe during the examination. NEET (UG) 2026 will be held on 03 May 2026 from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. Reporting time starts at 11:00 AM, and the last entry is allowed till 01:30 PM. PwBD candidates should arrive early because document verification may take extra time.
Candidates with a valid disability certificate issued by a competent authority can apply under the PwBD category. The certificate must clearly mention the type and percentage of disability. Only selecting the PwBD option in the application form is not enough. The original certificate must be shown at the exam centre to claim any relaxation.
As per the PwBD & Scribe Certificate Rules for NEET 2026, candidates must carry the original PwBD certificate on exam day. Without it, no benefits like extra time or scribe support will be provided.
A scribe is allowed only if the candidate has proper medical proof stating the need for writing assistance. Candidates cannot request a scribe at the last moment without valid documents. Approval must be taken as per the official guidelines before the exam. The scribe must also meet the eligibility conditions set by the exam authority.
The PwBD & Scribe Certificate Rules for NEET 2026 clearly state that proper documentation is compulsory to use scribe support or get compensatory time.
As per the PwBD & Scribe Certificate Rules for NEET 2026, candidates claiming relaxation must bring their original PwBD certificate to the examination centre. The certificate must be valid and issued by the competent authority as per government norms.
If a candidate fails to carry the original certificate, then even if they have selected the PwBD category during registration, they may not be allowed to use the relaxation benefits. Therefore, candidates must check their documents carefully one day before the examination and keep them ready in a safe folder.
The certificate should not be damaged, and all details such as the candidate’s name, type of disability, and issuing authority must be clearly visible. Photocopies alone may not be accepted if the original is required for verification.
Candidates must bring:
Printed admit card with passport-size photograph pasted (same as uploaded in the application).
One extra passport-size photograph for the attendance sheet.
One postcard-size (4”x6”) color photograph with a white background pasted on the proforma.
One original valid photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID, DigiLocker ID, or APAAR ID.
PwBD certificate and certificate of physical limitation to write, if applicable.
Without these documents, entry to the examination hall will not be allowed.
Checking of admit cards and instructions will take place between 01:30 PM and 01:45 PM. Test booklet distribution will begin at 01:45 PM. Candidates must fill in the details at 01:50 PM. The exam will start at 02:00 PM and end at 05:00 PM.
No barred items are allowed inside the centre. If any prohibited item is found, strict action will be taken under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
