Every student must follow these rules carefully to appear for the exam on May 3, 2026. If students carry things that are not allowed, they might get into trouble and may not be able to write the exam. This guide will help you understand the rules so you can be ready for your big day.

NEET Prohibited Items List 2026

There are many things that a student cannot take into the exam room. The items that are not allowed include:

  • Any kind of paper except your Admit Card and ID proof.

  • Notebooks, geometry boxes, or plastic pouches.

  • Calculators, writing pads, or pencil boxes.

  • Any kind of food items, like snacks or fruit.

  • Water bottles, tea, coffee, or cold drinks.

  • Log tables or electronic scanners.

NEET Dress Code Restrictions

The clothing rules are very important for a smooth entry. The security staff will check every student to make sure they follow these points:

  • Light clothes with half sleeves only.

  • No big buttons or heavy embroidery on shirts or kurtis.

  • No clothes with many pockets or zippers.

  • No jewellery like rings, earrings, nose pins, or necklaces.

  • No belts, scarves, or headbands.

  • No flowers or big hair clips in the hair.

NEET Electronics Allowed or Not

  • No mobile phones or microphones.

  • No smartwatches or simple digital watches.

  • No Bluetooth devices or earphones.

  • No health bands or fitness trackers.

  • No cameras or pagers.

  • No calculators or electronic pens.

NEET Exam Rules: Prohibited Items for Stationery

  • No pens, pencils, or erasers from home.

  • No sharpeners or rulers.

  • No printed or written materials.

  • No pouches to hold stationery.

  • No whiteboards or clipboards.

NEET Exam Hall Restrictions for Footwear

Footwear is checked carefully at the gate. Students should follow these rules:

  • No thick shoes, sneakers, or boots.

  • No sandals with very high heels.

  • Only simple slippers or thin-soled sandals.

NEET Security Guidelines

The security team uses metal detectors to check everyone. If they find anything on the banned list, they will take it away. In some cases, the student may not be allowed to sit for the exam at all. If a student is caught cheating with these items, they might be banned from taking the NEET exam for many years. It is always better to follow the rules and be honest.

Can I carry a water bottle?

Generally, water bottles are not allowed inside. The exam centre provides drinking water for all students. Only students with special medical needs can carry a transparent bottle with permission.

What happens if I wear shoes to the exam?

If you wear thick shoes or boots, the security staff may ask you to remove them outside the hall. It is much better to wear simple slippers or sandals to avoid this.

Is a pen provided at the centre?

The exam centre will provide a ballpoint pen to every student for the test.
