As lakhs of students prepare to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), knowing what to carry to the NEET exam centre is as important as revising the syllabus. Every year, several candidates face last-minute stress or are denied entry due to missing documents or carrying prohibited items. To avoid such issues, candidates must strictly follow the exam-day instructions issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The NEET Exam Centre follows tight security and verification procedures. Entry is allowed only after proper identity checks, biometric verification, and frisking. Candidates are advised to reach the centre well before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card to complete these formalities smoothly.
NEET Admit Card is mandatory for entry into the examination hall. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card downloaded from the official NEET website. Digital copies shown on mobile phones are not accepted.
The admit card should be clear, readable, and preferably printed in colour. It contains vital details such as the candidate’s roll number, exam centre address, reporting time, and important instructions.
Candidates must also ensure that the passport-size photograph is pasted in the space provided on the admit card, matching the one uploaded during registration.
Along with the admit card, candidates must carry one original valid photo ID. Accepted ID proofs include Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport, PAN card, driving licence, or school ID card (for students).
The name on the ID should match the name mentioned on the admit card. Photocopies or digital versions of IDs are not accepted at the exam centre.
Candidates are required to carry one or two additional passport-size photographs, preferably the same as used in the application form. These photographs may be required during attendance verification or other administrative procedures at the exam centre.
Candidates applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must carry the original PwD certificate issued by a competent authority. Without valid documentation, PwD-related facilities such as compensatory time may not be granted.
Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and earphones are strictly banned.
Other prohibited items include wallets, handbags, books, notes, food items, geometry boxes, and metallic objects. Exam centres usually do not provide storage facilities, so candidates should avoid bringing unnecessary items.
