Why NEET Remains India’s Only Medical Entrance Exam: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) remains India's only medical entrance exam. It is because of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act of 2019. It legally mandated a single, uniform entrance test for all medical and dental colleges nationwide for students.

Students who are preparing for the medical exams. They need to prepare for the multiple state and national-level entrance tests to seek admission in the medical colleges in India. The introduction of the single exam NEET helped the students saving thier time and efforts preparing for the multiple entrance tests.
Uniformity and Standardisation: Earlier, there were many different medical exams like AIPMT, state CETs, AIIMS, and JIPMER. NEET replaced all of them with one common exam, so all students are tested in the same way.
Reduction of Malpractices: A single exam helps stop wrong practices like donations for seats and cheating by some private colleges.
Transparency and Merit-Based Admission: With one national merit list, students get admission only based on their marks and rank, not on money or influence.
Reduced Burden on Students: Students do not have to prepare for many different exams. This saves time, money, and travel.
Judicial Support: The Supreme Court of India supports NEET. It says NEET is needed to protect the country’s future doctors and keep high standards in medical education.
Single Entry Exam: From 2020, famous institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER also take admission only through NEET.
Requirement for Studying Abroad: Indian students who want to study MBBS in other countries must pass NEET to practice in India later.
Language Support: NEET is held in 13 languages, including regional languages, so students from different states can understand the exam easily.
