Current Status of NEET 2026 Syllabus Reduction
NEET 2026 syllabus was officially released by the National Medical Commission on December 23, 2025. According to this official release, the syllabus has not been changed. The NEET 2026 syllabus is strictly like the NEET 2025 syllabus. That means earlier expectations of the NEET 2026 syllabus reduction have not come into existence.
Previous NEET Syllabus Changes
In the past few years, the NEET syllabus underwent severe changes. The NTA NEET syllabus was condensed from a total of 97 chapters to 79 chapters. This sparked rumours of further reductions. Recently, NCERT also revised its syllabus for the 2024-25 academic year. The board deleted several chapters and topics from the NCERT books. For instance, whole chapters like 'Hydrogen' and 's-Block Elements' were deleted in Class 11 Chemistry. However, the NMC did not carry forward the changes further for NEET 2026, despite the revisions in the NCERT.

Role of NMC in NEET 2026 Syllabus Reduction
