CBSE Board Exams 2026: No Entry After 10 AM

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a critical advisory for the millions of students appearing for the CBSE Board Exams 2026. In a move to ensure a seamless and zero-disturbance environment during the crucial 15-minute reading time, the board has implemented a strict 10 AM entry rule.

Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Controller of Examinations, emphasized that the gates will close promptly at 10:00 AM, and no student will be permitted to enter the examination center beyond this cut-off.

CBSE Board Exam-Day Guidelines 2026

To avoid any last-minute hurdles, students and parents must adhere to the following CBSE Board Exam-Day Guidelines:

  • Strict Reporting Time: Entry into the exam center starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 10:00 AM.

  • Reading Time Privacy: No students will be allowed entry after 10:00 AM to ensure that those already inside are not disturbed during their 15 minutes of reading the question paper.

  • Travel Planning: Students are advised to visit their examination centers in advance. Factoring in local traffic, weather conditions, and distance is essential to ensure a timely arrival on all examination days.

  • Mandatory Documents: Students must carry their original CBSE Admit Card and a valid school ID.

  • Uniform Code: Regular students must appear in their official school uniform, while private candidates are advised to wear light, simple clothing.

Decoding the CBSE Exams Bell Schedule

To help students track their progress without frequently checking the clock, a standardized CBSE Exams Bell Schedule will be followed across all halls:

  1. Long Bell (Start): Rings at 10:30 AM to signal the official start of writing.

  2. Single Bell (Periodic): A single bell will sound after every hour to help students pace their performance.

  3. Warning Bell (Single): Rings exactly 10 minutes before the conclusion of the paper.

  4. Long Bell (End): Rings at the end of the allotted time to signal the absolute conclusion of the exam.

Important Guidelines For CBSE Exam Day: Prohibited Items

To maintain the integrity of the CBSE Board Exams 2026, certain items are strictly prohibited inside the hall:

  • Electronic Gadgets: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and Bluetooth devices.

  • Stationery: Only transparent pouches containing pens (blue/royal blue ballpoint), pencils, and basic geometry tools are allowed.

  • Paper/Notes: Any printed or written material, including bits of paper or books.
