CBSE Class 10 Improvement & Compartment Exam 2026

Students who are not satisfied with their Class 10 scores can appear for the second board examination, scheduled from May 15 to June 1, 2026. The syllabus for this session will remain the same as the first exam.

Key Points on Second Examination

  • Under the two-board scheme, a student can appear for improvement in up to three subjects.
  • Students who have failed in two subjects in the first examination will be placed in the compartment category and can also appear in the second exam.
  • Candidates who have failed or did not appear in three or more subjects are not eligible for the second exam. They will need to appear in the main Board examinations in 2027.

This system allows students an opportunity to improve performance or clear failed subjects without waiting for the next academic year.

Tips for Students After Result Declaration

  1. Verify Your Marks: Cross-check marks in each subject.
  2. DigiLocker Certificates: Download digital marksheets for official use.
  3. Session 2 Planning: If performance needs improvement, plan for Session 2 exams in May 2026.
  4. Stay Updated: Keep an eye on official CBSE portals for announcements regarding evaluation, revaluation, or rechecking.

The CBSE Class 10 2026 results are expected anytime by mid-April, and students are advised to check results only on official portals. With the new improvement exam system in place, students have an excellent opportunity to enhance their performance in up to three subjects.
