CGPSC SI Prelims Result 2026: Candidates who appeared for the Chhattisgarh Police Sub Inspector recruitment examination can now check their preliminary result. The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) published the result on August 4, 2026, on its official website.
The result has been issued for the Subedar/Sub Inspector Cadre/Platoon Commander (Home Police Department) Exam-2024. Candidates can download the result PDF and search for their roll number in the list of candidates shortlisted for the next stage.
The preliminary examination was held on July 12, 2026, at 183 examination centres across 33 districts of Chhattisgarh. Recruitment is being conducted for 341 vacancies.
The preliminary examination result contains the details of candidates who have been provisionally selected to appear for the main examination.
As many as 7,301 candidates have made it to the next stage. The commission has shortlisted candidates beyond the usual 20-times vacancy ratio because of the applicable provisions for different reserved categories and sub-categories.
Candidates should remember that appearing in the shortlisted list does not by itself guarantee final selection. They must fulfil the conditions prescribed in the recruitment notification and qualify the remaining stages.
The result has been published in PDF format rather than as an individual scorecard. Candidates can therefore check their status directly from the list released by CGPSC.
The easiest way to check the result is to search for the roll number in the PDF. Candidates using a desktop or laptop can press Ctrl+F, enter their roll number and check the result.
Those checking through a mobile phone can use the search option available in their PDF reader.

Since the commission has released the result as a PDF, candidates can check their qualifying status without entering a registration number or password.
Follow these steps:
Open the CGPSC official website.
Find the section containing recent results and examination notices.
Locate the notification related to the Subedar/Sub Inspector Cadre/Platoon Commander preliminary examination.
Open the result document.
Search the PDF using your roll number.
Check the corresponding name, date of birth and other details.
Download the document and keep it saved.
Candidates should rely on the official result PDF rather than unofficial lists circulating on social media or other platforms.
The CGPSC result document provides more than just the list of shortlisted roll numbers. Candidates can find the following information in the PDF:
Serial number
Roll number
Candidate name
Date of birth
Category
Sub-category
Relevant cut-off marks
Candidates should cross-check the details associated with their roll number. If there is an error, the matter should be brought to the commission's notice through the prescribed channel.
The preliminary result PDF also contains the cut-off marks for different categories and sub-categories.
The qualifying benchmark is not necessarily the same for every candidate. Candidates should therefore check the cut-off corresponding to their category in the official result notice instead of comparing their marks with a general figure.
The cut-off, along with the shortlisted candidate list, gives candidates a clearer idea of their qualifying status in the preliminary stage.
Qualifying the prelims is only the first major step in the recruitment process. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the result now need to complete the separate application process for the main examination.
CGPSC is expected to release a fresh notice containing the mains application dates, instructions and other details. Candidates should not assume that the prelims application automatically serves as the mains application.
The commission has provisionally scheduled the main examination for October 24, 25 and 26, 2026. Candidates should treat these dates as tentative until CGPSC issues the final examination notice.
The preliminary examination is used to shortlist candidates for the subsequent stages. After qualifying the prelims, candidates have to appear for the main examination.
The recruitment process also includes further stages prescribed for the posts, including physical efficiency-related assessment and document verification, as applicable.
Candidates should check the original recruitment notification for the detailed requirements applicable to their post and category.
The recruitment process covers 341 posts under the Home (Police) Department. Against these vacancies, 7,301 candidates have been shortlisted through the preliminary examination.
The prelims were conducted across 183 centres in all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh on July 12, 2026.
These shortlisted candidates now form the pool for the upcoming main examination.
