CUET UG 2026 Re-Exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a special re-examination for 3,765 candidates who left their examination centres following a technical disruption during Shift 1 of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 on May 30.
The agency acknowledged that a technical issue at certain examination centres delayed the start of the morning shift, causing inconvenience and anxiety among candidates. NTA has assured students that corrective measures are being taken and that affected candidates will be given another opportunity to appear for the examination.
According to the official update issued by NTA, a technical glitch at some test centres affected the commencement of the Shift 1 examination on May 30, 2026. As a result, the examination could not begin on time at those locations.
The agency stated that the matter has been taken seriously and the technical service provider, TCS iON, has been directed to conduct a detailed root-cause analysis and submit a report immediately.
Despite the delay, most candidates were able to take the examination once technical issues were resolved.
NTA informed that approximately 95 percent of candidates successfully completed their test after the examination resumed.
However, a section of candidates chose to leave the examination centres before the test could restart.
The National Testing Agency has confirmed that a special re-examination will be organized as a one-time measure for affected students.
According to the official statement, 3,765 candidates who were present at the examination centres and had completed biometric verification but left before the examination resumed will be eligible for the re-test.
The revised examination date, admit card details, and other instructions will be announced separately through official channels.
The re-examination facility will be available only to candidates who:
Reported to their allotted examination centre.
Completed biometric registration.
Were present during the disruption.
Left the centre before the examination resumed.
Candidates who completed the examination successfully will not be required to appear for the re-test.
