GATE COAP 2026 Schedule Released

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has officially released the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2026 schedule. COAP serves as a centralized platform for candidates with valid GATE scores to accept offers for MTech admissions at premier institutes and recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

IIT Guwahati announced the GATE 2026 results on March 19. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must have a valid GATE score from 2026, 2025, or 2024 to participate in the process. Candidates who have qualified for GATE 2026, 2025, or 2024 are eligible to participate. It’s important to note that COAP is used only to acGATE COAP 2026 Schedule Released: Key Dates and Admission Process Explainedcept, retain, or reject offers—candidates must still apply separately to each institute or PSU they are interested in.

What is COAP and How Does It Work?

COAP is not an admission portal itself; it acts as a centralized interface to manage offers from participating institutes. Candidates log in to view their offers and make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept and Freeze – Accept the offer and finalize it, not waiting for further rounds.

  • Retain and Wait – Keep the offer while waiting for potentially better options.

  • Reject and Wait – Reject the current offer and wait for other offers in upcoming rounds.

Important: “Retain and Wait” can only be used twice for the same institute and course.

COAP 2026 Schedule and Round-wise Dates

The portal will conduct 10 rounds starting from May 11, 2026. Here’s the detailed schedule:

6 June 13 (10 AM) – June 17 (9 AM) Accept & Freeze / Reject only

9 July 3 (10 AM) – July 5 (9 AM) Accept & Freeze / Reject only
10 July 8 (10 AM) – July 10 (9 AM) Accept & Freeze / Reject only (if applicable)

Note: Rounds 1–4 provide all three options. Rounds 5–10 allow only final decisions. If no action is taken in a round, offers are automatically rejected.

Participating Institutes

Several top institutes are part of COAP 2026, including:

  • Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru

  • Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs): Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Hyderabad, and more

PSUs also participate, offering jobs and admission opportunities for qualified GATE candidates.

How to Use COAP 2026

  1. Register and log in to the official COAP portal.

  2. View offers available in the current round.

  3. Choose one of the options: Accept & Freeze, Retain & Wait, or Reject & Wait.

  4. For multiple rounds, monitor updates and repeat the process for new offers.

  5. Apply separately to institutes/PSUs as per individual admission requirements.

Tip: Keep a close watch on offer rounds to avoid missing opportunities. Use “Retain and Wait” strategically in the first rounds if you aim for a better institute or PSU.

Key Points for Candidates

  • COAP 2026 is only for GATE-qualified candidates.

  • All offers in COAP do not guarantee admission; separate applications to institutes/PSUs are mandatory.

  • Decisions in early rounds impact later options—plan carefully.

  • Round 10 will occur only if some institutes continue the offer process after round 9.
