To pass the CA Intermediate May 2026 exam, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements as set by ICAI: at least 40% in each paper and 50% aggregate per group. Score 60%+ in a paper and you get an exemption carried forward for your next three attempts.
Candidates who do not meet either of these thresholds in any group must reappear in that group in the next session.
After clearing the CA Intermediate exam, candidates can enrol in CA Articleship (practical training) for 24 months. Candidates must pass both groups of CA Inter and also complete ICITSS under the new scheme to be eligible to register for CA Final. Once the articleship is over, candidates must complete a study period of six months before appearing for CA Final exams.
If you did not clear: Candidates who could not pass can start preparing for the next CA Inter September 2026 session. ICAI will open CA Final November registration 2026 on July 6
If you are not satisfied with your CA Inter May 2026 result, you can apply for verification of marks within 30 days of the result declaration.
