The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued an official clarification dismissing social media reports alleging a security breach involving its examination-related systems. The Institute stated that the claims regarding unauthorized access to examination records are false, misleading, and unverified.
According to ICAI, the portal being referred to in these viral posts is not connected to candidates' examination records. The Institute has assured students, members, and other stakeholders that there has been no compromise of examination data, answer books, marks, or any confidential information. ICAI has also warned that legal action will be initiated against individuals responsible for spreading misinformation.
Amid reports circulating on social media alleging that an ICAI examination portal had been hacked, the Institute released an official statement to address the concerns.
ICAI clarified that the portal mentioned in these reports—examiners.icaiexam.icai.org—is only an examiner orientation and training portal. It is not used for storing examination records, candidate data, marks, or answer books.
The Institute emphasized that the allegations of unauthorized access to examination-related information are completely incorrect.
ICAI reassured all stakeholders that its examination systems remain secure.
The Institute confirmed that the following information has not been compromised:
Candidates' examination records
Answer books
Marks data
Sensitive examination-related information
Confidential candidate records
ICAI stated that the integrity and confidentiality of its examination process remain fully protected.
The Institute has urged students, members, and stakeholders not to rely on unverified social media posts or misleading reports.
ICAI advised everyone to refer only to official announcements issued through its authorized communication channels for authentic information regarding examinations and other Institute-related updates.
Taking a serious view of the matter, ICAI announced that it will initiate strict legal action against individuals responsible for spreading false claims and rumours regarding its examination systems.
The Institute stated that such misinformation creates unnecessary panic and confusion among students and other stakeholders.
ICAI reiterated that its examination process is supported by a robust information technology infrastructure with multiple layers of security safeguards.
According to the Institute, these measures are designed to ensure:
Protection of examination data
Confidentiality of candidate information
Integrity of the evaluation process
Secure handling of marks and examination records
The Institute reaffirmed that its examination systems continue to operate securely and reliably.
