The Income Tax Department has opened a fresh recruitment window that Class 10-pass candidates across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will want to move on quickly — because it closes in three weeks and offers only 7 seats.
The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh (MP&CG) Region, Bhopal, has released its official notification (Advt No. F.No. Pr.CCIT/MP/CS/Canteen Recruitment/2026-27) inviting applications for 7 Canteen Attendant posts in its Departmental Canteen. Applications opened on August 11 and will close on August 31, 2026, at 11:00 PM. There is no application fee for any category — a detail that makes this one of the most accessible central government openings for 10th-pass candidates this month.
Educational qualification: Class 10 (Matriculation) pass from a recognised board
Age limit: 18 to 25 years as on August 31, 2026
Age relaxation: OBC candidates get 3 years, SC/ST candidates get 5 years; relaxation also applies to PwBD candidates, ex-servicemen, and eligible Central Government employees as per government norms
PwBD eligibility: Candidates with 40% or more disability under the Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) category can apply
The post is classified under Group C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial category, with a 2-year probation period for selected candidates
This is the detail most reports are missing: only 280 candidates in total (40 per vacancy) will be shortlisted for the written exam, based purely on Class 10 marks. If two candidates tie on marks, the older candidate gets preference; if the tie persists, all tied candidates are allowed through. That makes your matriculation percentage the real first filter — worth knowing before you apply.
The process runs in four stages:
Shortlisting — 280 candidates selected on Class 10 marks (40 per vacancy)
Written Examination — Held only in Bhopal. 40 MCQs, 40 marks total, 30-minute duration (40 minutes for candidates using a scribe). Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer applies. Questions are drawn from English comprehension, Hindi, food and nutrition, mathematics, and hygiene and cleanliness.
Skill Test — Worth 60 marks. Around 70 candidates (10 per vacancy) will be shortlisted from the written exam to take this stage, which tests practical ability in preparing beverages and food, food handling and presentation, and cleanliness.
Document Verification & Medical Fitness — Final selection is subject to document verification, character/police verification, and medical fitness clearance.
Candidates already employed with a Central/State Government department or PSU must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer. OBC applicants must confirm they don't fall under the creamy layer as on the cut-off date.
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 1 of the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix, with a pay scale of Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900 per month. On top of the basic pay, employees will get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and other benefits applicable to Central Government staff — making this a stable, benefits-backed government job for a 10th-pass candidate.
Applications must be submitted online through the official regional website, incometaxmpcg.gov.in, between August 11 and August 31, 2026. Selected candidates can be posted anywhere within the jurisdiction of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, MP & CG Region, so applicants should be prepared for placement across the region.
