
India Post GDS Result 2026 is expected to be released soon by India Post. Candidates who applied for the January 2026 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment are now waiting for the merit list. A total of 28,636 vacancies have been announced across different postal circles in India. The result will be published only in online mode and will be available in PDF format. There will be no individual scorecard. Candidates will need to download the circle-wise merit list and check their name or registration number.
The GDS result will be released only on the official GDS Online Engagement portal of India Post. Candidates should regularly visit the official website to stay updated. Once released, the merit list PDFs for each postal circle will be available on the homepage under the results section. It is important to rely only on the official portal for accurate information.

The exact date of the result has not been officially announced. However, based on previous recruitment cycles, the first merit list is expected in the first week of March 2026. The application process ended in February, and usually the result is declared within a few weeks after that.
If all vacancies are not filled through the first merit list, second and third merit lists may be released later.

The selection process is straightforward. There is no written examination or interview.
Selection is based only on Class 10 marks submitted during the application process. The marks are converted into a percentage up to four decimal places to ensure accurate ranking.
If two candidates have the same marks:
The older candidate is given preference.
Reservation rules are applied as per government norms.

Registration number
Category and gender
Marks percentage
Division and post name
Document verification schedule
There will be no separate scorecard issued. The merit list itself will serve as the final result.
Based on previous trends, the expected cut-off range may be:
General: 85%–95%
OBC: 80%–90%
SC: 80%–88%
ST: 79%–85%
EWS: 75%–83%
PwBD: 65%–80%
The actual cut-off may vary depending on the postal circle and number of applicants.

Select your postal circle
Download the merit list PDF
Press Ctrl + F and search your registration number or name
If your name appears in the list, you will be shortlisted for document verification.
Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be called for document verification at their respective divisional offices. They must carry original documents such as:
Class 10 marksheet
Identity proof
Caste or EWS certificate (if applicable)
Date of birth proof
Medical certificate
