For 2026, the NTA has introduced mandatory high-tech verification steps to prevent fraud:
Aadhaar e-KYC: Your details (Name, DOB, Gender) will be pulled directly from the UIDAI database. Ensure your Aadhaar is updated to match your Class 10 certificate.
Live Photo Capture: You no longer just upload a file. Candidates must capture a live photo using a webcam during the application.
Tip: Use a light background and ensure 80% of your face is visible.
Aadhaar-Linked Exam Centers: Your exam city will now be assigned based on the address mentioned in your Aadhaar card.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card will be released 3 days before the exam on the official NTA website. Candidates can download it using their application number and date of birth, and must carry it along with a valid photo ID to the exam center.
Whether you are a fresh applicant or a Session 1 veteran, the process is streamlined:
For Session 1 Registered Candidates: You do not need a new registration. Log in with your existing Application Number, select the papers for Session 2, and pay the exam fee.
For Fresh Candidates: 1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in.
2. Click on "New Candidate Registration."
3. Complete the e-KYC using Aadhaar/Passport/PAN.
4. Fill in academic details and capture your live photo.
5. Pay the fee ($1000$ for Gen-Male; $800$ for Gen-Female; $500$ for SC/ST/PwD).
