Why is NEET UG 2026 Being Re-Conducted?

The Government of India approved the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3 after concerns related to the paper leak controversy surfaced. Following the decision, NTA announced a nationwide re-exam to ensure transparency and fairness in the admission process.

Around 22.79 lakh candidates had registered for the NEET UG 2026 examination this year.
