As the gateway to prestigious medical institutions for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, and even Military Nursing Services, the competition is expected to be fiercer than ever this year. Here is everything you need to know to secure your application and avoid common mistakes that lead to rejection.

Mark your calendars! The NTA has provided a strict timeline for the 2026 session.
Registration Start Date: February 8, 2026
Last Date to Apply: March 8, 2026 (up to 09:00 PM)
Last Date for Fee Payment: March 8, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
Correction Window: March 10 to March 12, 2026
Exam Date: May 3, 2026 (Sunday)
Exam Timing: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (IST)
A qualifying score in NEET (UG) 2026 is mandatory for admission to:
MBBS & BDS (Medical & Dental)
AYUSH Courses (BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS)
BVSc & AH (Veterinary Science)
Military Nursing Service (MNS): Aspirants for the 4-year B.Sc. Nursing course at AFMS Hospitals must now qualify via NEET.

Follow these steps carefully on the official portal, neet.nta.nic.in:
Registration: Visit the website and click "New Registration." Enter basic details like name, mobile number, and email. Generate your Application Number.
Application Form: Log in with your new credentials. Fill in academic qualifications (Class 10 & 12 details) and choose your preferred exam city and question paper medium (available in 13 languages).
Document Upload: This is the most critical stage. Ensure your files meet NTA specifications (see below).
Fee Payment: Pay the fee online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
Confirmation Page: Once payment is successful, download and print the Confirmation Page. Your application is not complete without it!
NTA has issued a specific advisory regarding the size and format of documents. Using the wrong size is the #1 reason for form rejection.

Aadhaar Mismatch: Ensure your name and date of birth in your Aadhaar card match your Class 10 certificate exactly.
Duplicate Applications: Do NOT submit more than one application. Multiple forms will lead to disqualification.
Invalid Contact Info: Use your own or your parents' email and mobile number. All official alerts, including admit card and result links, will be sent here.
Photo Background: Use a white background. At least 80% of your face must be visible, and ears must be clear.
