NEET UG 2026 candidates are now waiting for the counselling process to begin. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for All India Quota seats and several participating institutions and categories.
As of the latest update, the MCC website has an active UG Medical Counselling section for the 2026 session, but the detailed NEET UG 2026 counselling registration schedule and information bulletin have not yet been published. The current events section lists 2026 notices, while the UG schedule page continues to show earlier counselling schedules.
Candidates should therefore avoid relying on unofficial counselling dates circulating on social media. The MCC is responsible for finalising the counselling procedure and schedule for the seats under its counselling jurisdiction.
While waiting for the counselling schedule, candidates can use this time to prepare their documents, research colleges and understand the choice-filling process. A little preparation can help students make better decisions once registration and choice filling begin.
Students can:
Check the NIRF 2025 Medical Rankings and shortlist preferred colleges.
Compare colleges based on location, courses, facilities, fees and available seats.
Keep NEET UG 2026 rank, score and category in mind while preparing a preference list.
Arrange important documents required during counselling and admission.
Check the official MCC website regularly for registration and schedule updates.
Understand the difference between All India Quota (AIQ) counselling and state counselling.
Avoid relying on unofficial websites or social media posts for counselling dates.
Prepare a tentative college preference list before choice filling starts.
