
NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 Fee Refund: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that candidates appearing for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 will receive a refund of the examination fee already paid during the original registration process. As students wait for the activation of the refund module, many candidates are asking one major question — how much refund amount will they receive?
The refund amount will depend on the category under which the candidate applied for the examination. Candidates belonging to General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, PwBD,categories paid different registration fees during the application process.
In its official notice and FAQs, NTA confirmed that:
No fresh registration will be required for the re-exam
No additional examination fee will be charged
Fees already paid by candidates will be refunded
The refund process is expected to begin through an online bank account update module.
Here is the official category-wise NEET UG 2026 application fee paid by candidates. The same amount is expected to be refunded by NTA.

This means:
General category students are expected to receive ₹1700
OBC-NCL and EWS candidates may receive ₹1600
SC, ST, PwBD, PwD, and Third Gender candidates are likely to get ₹1000 refunded
For candidates who applied from outside India, the refund amount may go up to ₹9500 depending on the category and payment made during registration.
In the official FAQ section, NTA stated:
“The module for sharing bank account details for refund of examination fee will be provided to candidates by 21st May 2026.”
Additionally, in its May 12, 2026 official notice, the agency confirmed that fees already paid by students would be refunded during the re-conducted examination process.
The refund process will be conducted online through the official NEET portal. Candidates will need to log in and submit bank account details carefully.

As of now, NTA has not announced the exact refund credit date. The agency has only confirmed that the bank account update module will be activated by May 21, 2026.
After candidates submit their bank details, the refund process is expected to begin in phases.
