The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has issued the short notification for the recruitment of Principals and Teachers in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas. The recruitment has been announced for 815 vacancies.

OAVS is conducting this recruitment to fill 815 posts of Principals and Teachers in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas.

OAVS Teacher Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed educational qualification and age requirements to be eligible for the respective OAVS posts. The eligibility details available in the short notification are given below.

Principal Educational Qualification

For the Principal post, candidates must have:

• A Master’s degree from a recognised University with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

• A B.Ed. degree, which is a course prescribed by NCTE, from an NCTE-recognised institution affiliated with a recognised University.

• The prescribed age limit is 32 to 50 years.

PGT Educational Qualification

For the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) position, candidates must meet either of the specified postgraduate qualification routes along with the required education degree:

• A two-year Integrated Post Graduate Course in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates, the requirement is 45% marks; OR

• A Master’s degree from a recognised University with at least 50% marks in aggregate in the specified subjects. For SC/ST/SEBC/PH candidates, the requirement is 45% marks.

• Candidates must also have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a course prescribed by NCTE, from an institution recognised by NCTE and affiliated with a recognised University.

• The age limit is 21 to 38 years.

TGT Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) post must satisfy the following requirements:

• A four-year integrated Degree course in the concerned subject from an NCTE-recognised institution with at least 50% marks in aggregate. SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates require 45% marks.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Science in the concerned subjects with 50% marks in aggregate. SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates require 45% marks.

• A Bachelor in Education degree/3-year integrated B.A. B.Ed., as prescribed by NCTE, with 50% marks in aggregate. The requirement is 45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates. The degree should be from an NCTE-recognised institution affiliated with a recognised University.

• Candidates should have proficiency in teaching in both Odia and English medium.

• Knowledge of Computer Applications is desirable.

• The age limit is 21 to 38 years.

OAVS Teacher Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The recruitment procedure for OAVS Teacher posts consists of three stages. Candidates appearing for the recruitment will be assessed through the following rounds:
