With the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination just days away, a fake "confidential notice" claiming changes to the exam pattern is going viral on social media — and the government's official fact-checking body has stepped in. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) Fact Check unit has flagged the circular as completely false and urged students not to share or act on it. With over 22 lakh MBBS aspirants preparing for the June 21 re-exam, here is everything students need to know — verified, official, and in one place.
A circular purporting to carry "confidential instructions" for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination has been widely shared across WhatsApp and X (formerly Twitter). In a post on X, PIB Fact Check clarified that the notice is fake and urged students not to trust or share any unverified information.
What the fake notice falsely claimed:

The NEET 2026 examination was scrapped following allegations that the question paper had been leaked. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), currently investigating the matter, has taken more than 10 individuals into custody in connection with the alleged leak.
To ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all candidates, NTA decided to conduct a fresh examination on June 21, 2026. Authorities have also introduced enhanced security measures for the re-examination, including stricter monitoring and secure transportation of question papers.
Candidates do not need to pay any extra fee for the re-exam. The fee already paid for the May 3 examination will be refunded to their bank accounts.
NTA officially released the City Intimation Slip for the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination on June 7, 2026, through its official portal neet.nta.nic.in and confirmed it via its official X account @NTA_Exams.
The city intimation slip is an important pre-examination document that provides advance information about the examination city. However, candidates should note that the city intimation slip is not the admit card. The admit card containing the exact examination centre address, reporting time, and examination instructions will be issued separately by NTA before the examination date.
Steps to download Re-NEET 2026 City Intimation Slip:
Note: The city slip confirms only your exam city. Your exact exam centre address will be mentioned on the Admit Card only.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated in a press conference that all candidates will receive their admit card by June 14, 2026. The admit card is expected to be available on neet.nta.nic.in and will require login via Application Number and Password to download.
Documents to carry on exam day (with Admit Card):
NTA has opened the scribe details submission facility for physically disabled candidates. Students can submit the details of the scribe by June 12.
PwD/PwBD candidates eligible for scribe assistance must:
The deadline to submit bank account details for NEET aspirants who appeared for the earlier NEET UG 2026 has been extended till June 22.
This refund applies to students whose original May 3 exam has been cancelled. Those who have not yet submitted bank details should log in to the portal and do so before June 22 to avoid missing out on the refund.
The re-examination will be conducted in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM in offline pen-and-paper mode across more than 5,400 centres in 550 cities across India.
