The Railway Group D CBT 1 will be conducted over multiple days from 3 August to 21 August 2026. This staggered, multi-day format allows the Board to accommodate the enormous applicant pool smoothly. Candidates should note their individual exam date only from the city intimation slip and admit card, as the specific date differs from candidate to candidate.
The RRB Group D CBT 1 will be held in three shifts every day. Candidates must reach the examination centre before the reporting time, as entry will not be allowed once the gates close.
| Shift | Reporting Time | Exam Start Time |
| Shift 1 | 7:30 AM | 9:00 AM |
| Shift 2 | 11:15 AM | 12:45 PM |
| Shift 3 | 3:00 PM | 4:30 PM |
Each shift runs for 90 minutes, so plan your travel to reach well ahead of the reporting time. Late arrivals are not permitted under any circumstances.
Along with the exam date, RRB has confirmed the expected release window for the city intimation slip. For candidates appearing on 3 August 2026, the slip is expected from 25 July 2026, with similar timelines for later exam dates. The RRB Group D city intimation slip is released approximately 10 days before the exam date, and it is not an admit card — it cannot be used for entry into the examination centre.
The city slip tells you your allotted exam city, exam date and shift so you can arrange travel and accommodation in advance. SC/ST candidates can also access their travel authority through the same link.
The Railway Group D Admit Card 2026 is expected to be released from 31 July 2026 onwards for candidates scheduled on 3 August, with the hall ticket for later dates following the same pattern. The admit card is released about 4 days before the exam date and carries the exam centre location, centre code, documents to carry, candidate details and exam-day instructions.
The admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination hall — no candidate is allowed in without it. Download it early and check every detail carefully.
