SSC CPO 2026 Notification Out: Apply Online, 2,018 Vacancies, Eligibility, Exam Pattern and Selection Process

SSC CPO 2026 application form is available from September 10 to September 30, 2026. Candidates can submit the form online through the SSC website or the mySSC mobile application. SSC has announced 2,018 tentative vacancies for SSC CPO 2026. The vacancies are distributed among Delhi Police, CAPFs and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF.

Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police

Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs

The CAPF vacancies include posts in CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB. The notification lists 1,320 male and 147 female vacancies, making 1,467 CAPF vacancies in total.

Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF

Therefore, the total tentative vacancies across the posts mentioned in the notification are 2,018.

Candidates should note that the vacancies are tentative and may be revised by the concerned departments.

SSC CPO 2026 Application Form

The SSC CPO application form 2026 can be submitted from September 10 to September 30, 2026.

Candidates must first complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website. SSC has clarified that OTR generated on the old website, ssc.nic.in, will not work on the new website. The new OTR will remain valid for examinations applied for through the new SSC website.

The application can be submitted through:

SSC has also advised candidates to opt for Aadhaar-based authentication during OTR. The application module captures the candidate's photograph in real time.

How to Apply Online for SSC CPO 2026?

Candidates can follow these steps to complete the SSC CPO apply online 2026 process:

1. Visit ssc.gov.in.

2. Complete One-Time Registration on the new SSC website.

3. Log in using the registered credentials.

4. Select the SSC CPO 2026 examination.

5. Enter the required personal and educational details.

6. Upload the required signature and complete the photograph-related requirements.

7. Check all details through the Preview option.

8. Pay the application fee, if applicable.

9. Submit the application form.

10. Save or print the submitted application for future reference.

SSC has specified that the scanned signature should be in JPEG format and between 10 KB and 20 KB, with an approximate dimension of 6 cm × 2 cm.

SSC CPO 2026 Application Fee

The SSC CPO application fee is ₹100.

Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST and eligible Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the fee. The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or eligible debit cards.

The fee payment deadline is October 1, 2026, up to 11 PM.

SSC CPO 2026 Application Correction Window

SSC will open the SSC CPO 2026 application correction window from October 8 to October 10, 2026, up to 11 PM.

Candidates who have successfully submitted their applications with the required fee within the prescribed period will be allowed to make corrections.

The first correction and resubmission will cost ₹200, while the second correction and resubmission will cost ₹500. The correction charges apply to all candidates irrespective of gender or category.

SSC CPO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

SSC CPO 2026 Age Limit

For all posts except SI (Fire) in CISF, the age limit is 20 to 25 years as on August 1, 2026. Candidates must have been born between August 2, 2001 and August 1, 2006, both dates inclusive.

For SI (Fire) in CISF, the age limit is 18 to 30 years. Candidates must have been born between August 2, 1996 and August 1, 2008.

Age relaxation is available to eligible categories as per government rules. For example, SC/ST candidates get five years of relaxation and OBC candidates get three years. Specific relaxations also apply to Ex-Servicemen and certain Delhi Police candidates.

SSC CPO Educational Qualification

For Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent.

Candidates appearing for their Bachelor's degree can also apply, but they must possess the required qualification by the closing date of applications.

For SI (Fire) in CISF, candidates must have either:

• A Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised university or equivalent; or

• Matriculation/equivalent with a three-year diploma in the specified engineering disciplines mentioned in the notification.

The notification also specifies requirements for equivalent qualifications and recognised Open and Distance Learning qualifications.

Driving Licence Requirement for Delhi Police SI

Male candidates applying for Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police must possess a valid driving licence for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests.

Male candidates without the required driving licence can still be eligible for the Sub-Inspector posts in CAPFs, subject to other eligibility conditions.

SSC CPO 2026 Exam Date

The SSC CPO 2026 Computer-Based Examination date has not been announced yet. The official notification states that the schedule will be notified later.

SSC will provide examination-related information, including the timetable and city/centre details, through the concerned regional websites.

Candidates should therefore avoid relying on unofficial exam dates until SSC publishes the schedule.

SSC CPO 2026 Exam Pattern

The SSC CPO 2026 selection examination consists of:

All prescribed stages are mandatory, with PST/PET and DME being qualifying in nature.

SSC CPO Paper-I Pattern

The duration is one hour, with a sectional timer of 15 minutes for each part. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer in Paper-I.

SSC CPO Paper-II Pattern

Paper-II is of one-hour duration, with sectional timers of 20 minutes for each part. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer.

SSC CPO 2026 Syllabus

The SSC CPO syllabus covers four major areas in Paper-I and Paper-II:

• General Intelligence and Reasoning

• General Knowledge and General Awareness

• Quantitative Aptitude

• English Comprehension

The reasoning section includes topics such as analogy, classification, series, coding-decoding, problem-solving, syllogism and related areas.

General Awareness includes topics related to current events, history, culture, geography, economic scene, polity, Constitution and scientific research.

Quantitative Aptitude covers areas such as percentage, ratio and proportion, averages, profit and loss, time and distance, time and work, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and data-related topics.

English Comprehension covers areas including vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion and comprehension.

SSC CPO 2026 Physical Standards and PET

Candidates shortlisted for the physical stage must meet the prescribed Physical Standard Test (PST) requirements.

For example, the standard height for male candidates for SI in Delhi Police is 170 cm, while the standard height for female candidates is 157 cm, subject to specified relaxations for eligible categories.

For CAPF SI posts, the notification also provides specific height and chest standards for different categories.

SSC CPO PET for Male Candidates

The prescribed PET includes:

• 100-metre race in 16 seconds

• 1.6-km race in 6.5 minutes

• Long jump of 3.65 metres in three chances

• High jump of 1.2 metres in three chances

• Shot put of 4.5 metres in three chances

SSC CPO PET for Female Candidates

The PET includes:

• 100-metre race in 18 seconds

• 800-metre race in 4 minutes

• Long jump of 2.7 metres in three chances

• High jump of 0.9 metres in three chances

PST/PET does not carry marks and is qualifying/elimination in nature. Ex-Servicemen are not required to undergo PET, but they must meet the prescribed physical standards and other requirements.

SSC CPO 2026 Selection Process

The selection process starts with Paper-I. Candidates are shortlisted for PST/PET based on their performance in Paper-I.

Candidates who qualify PST/PET can appear for Paper-II. Those who qualify Paper-II are shortlisted for the medical examination.

The broad selection process is:

Paper-I → PST/PET → Paper-II → DME/RME → Document Verification → Final Selection

The minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-II are:

• UR: 30%

• OBC/EWS: 25%

• All other categories: 20%

SSC may fix higher cut-offs depending on vacancies and the number of candidates.

Final selection and allocation of post/force will be based on Paper-II performance, including applicable NCC bonus marks, and the candidate's post/force preferences.

SSC CPO 2026 NCC Bonus Marks

NCC certificate holders can receive bonus marks in both Paper-I and Paper-II. The bonus is added to the candidate's normalized score.

The candidate must hold the relevant NCC certificate as on the closing date of applications.

SSC CPO 2026 Post and Force Preferences

Candidates will be asked to submit their post/force preferences after the Paper-II result and before the final resu1wslt.

The options include:

SSC has clearly stated that the preference once submitted is final and irreversible. Candidates who do not submit their preferences within the specified period will not be considered for any post in the final result.

SSC CPO 2026 Admit Card

SSC will issue the SSC CPO admit card 2026 online. It will not be sent by post.

The examination city and centre information will be uploaded on the concerned regional website around 10 days before the examination, while the Admission Certificate is expected to be available for download 2–3 days before the examination.
