The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a special support facility for visually impaired candidates applying for the UGC NET June 2026 Examination. According to the latest public notice released on 9 May 2026, visually impaired applicants facing difficulties in capturing and uploading a live photograph during the registration process can now submit their photograph through email.
The initiative has been launched as a one-time facilitation measure to ensure that eligible candidates do not face technical barriers while completing the online application form for the UGC NET June 2026 examination.
During the online registration process for UGC NET June 2026, candidates are required to capture and upload a live photograph through the official registration portal. However, NTA observed that visually impaired candidates may encounter practical difficulties while completing this step independently.
To address this issue, NTA has allowed visually impaired candidates to send their live photograph directly via email for assistance in the application process.
Eligible candidates can send their photograph to the following official email address:
ugcnet@nta.ac.in
Candidates must ensure that the email includes all necessary details for verification and processing.
Visually impaired candidates should include the following information while submitting their request:
Application Number
Candidate Name
Relevant personal details
Live Photograph
Candidates are advised to provide accurate information to avoid delays during application verification.
NTA clarified that this special facility is available only for visually impaired candidates who are genuinely facing issues while capturing the live photograph during the online registration process.
The agency has emphasized that the relaxation is being provided solely as a support mechanism for candidates requiring accessibility assistance.
UGC NET is conducted by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining eligibility for:
Assistant Professor
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
PhD admissions in various universities and institutions
Candidates applying for the June 2026 session must complete the application process online through the official portal.
Use the official email ID only for photograph-related assistance.
Mention the correct application number in the email.
Regularly check the official website for updates.
