Following the release of the UGC NET December 2025 results, a surge of inquiries regarding re-evaluation and re-checking has flooded the National Testing Agency (NTA) helpdesk. With the qualifying cut-offs for the 85 subjects now live, candidates are closely examining their scorecards to determine their eligibility for JRF, Assistant Professor, and PhD admissions.
Many candidates search for "UGC NET Re-evaluation 2026" after missing the cut-off by a few marks. However, per the official NTA Information Bulletin, the rules are strict:
No Re-Evaluation: NTA does not entertain any requests for re-evaluation or re-checking of the answer sheets after the result declaration.
Finality of Results: The results are compiled based on the Final Answer Key, which was prepared after considering all challenges submitted during the provisional window (January 14–17, 2026).
No Correspondence: No grievance or correspondence regarding the re-checking of scores will be entertained by the NTA.
Expert Tip: If you notice a clerical error in your personal details (Name, Category, or Photo) on the scorecard, you should contact the NTA Helpline immediately at 011-40759000, as this is different from a request to change marks.
The NTA has released two separate cut-off lists: one for Assistant Professor & JRF and another for PhD Admission Only. Below are the aggregate cut-off percentages for some high-traffic subjects (General Category):

Since the exam was conducted in multiple shifts (December 31, 2025 – January 7, 2026), NTA uses the Normalization Procedure based on Percentile Score.
Percentile Score: It indicates the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below that particular candidate in that shift.
Calculation: For multi-shift papers, the raw marks are converted into NTA Scores (Percentiles) to ensure that the difficulty level of different shifts does not disadvantage any candidate.
