UPSC CSE Final Result 2025: Total Candidates Recommended Last Year
UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is one of the toughest competitive exams in India, and every year thousands of aspirants wait for the final merit list. In the previous cycle, a little over a thousand candidates were recommended for appointment to various civil services after clearing all three stages of the exam — prelims, mains, and interview. UPSC CSE Final Result 2025: Total Candidates Recommended Last Year
In the previous Civil Services Examination cycle, a total of 1,009 candidates were recommended for appointment to various services under the Government of India. The recommendation was made after the completion of the Civil Services Mains Examination held in September 2024 and the personality test interviews conducted between January and April 2025.
Based on the performance in these two stages, the Union Public Service Commission prepared a final merit list of candidates in order of rank. Those who made it to the list were recommended for appointment to some of the most prestigious services in the country, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and several Central Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ services.
Category-wise Recommended Candidates Last Year
The 1,009 selected candidates came from different reservation categories, following the government’s reservation policy. The selection numbers reflect participation from candidates across social and economic backgrounds.
Among the selected candidates, the General category accounted for the highest number, followed by OBC candidates. Candidates from EWS, SC, and ST categories were also recommended based on merit and available vacancies.
