The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the NDA 1 Result 2026 today, May 8, 2026. This announcement comes exactly 26 days after the written examination was conducted on April 12 across various centers nationwide.
The result, published in PDF format, contains the roll numbers of candidates who have successfully cleared the written threshold and are now eligible for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview stage. With 394 vacancies across the Army, Navy, and Air Force up for grabs, this is a major milestone for defense aspirants.
The written result is the first filter in a rigorous selection process. Candidates must now pivot their focus toward psychological and physical preparation for the SSB.
UPSC does not send individual notifications to candidates. You must check the official PDF manually.

While UPSC releases the official cut-off only after the final merit list (post-SSB), experts and historical trends suggest the following expected scores for the written stage:
Written Exam Cut-Off (out of 900): 350 – 365 Marks
Sectional Cut-Off: Minimum 25% marks in each subject (Mathematics & GAT) is mandatory.
Final Selection Target: To stay safe for the final merit list, a combined (Written + SSB) score of 700+ is generally required.
Qualifying for the written exam is only half the battle. Action is required within 14 days.
Registration Portal: Qualified candidates must register themselves on the Indian Army’s recruitment website: joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Deadline: Failure to register within two weeks of the result declaration may lead to the cancellation of your candidature.
Selection Center: Upon registration, you will be allotted an SSB center (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Kapurthala) and an interview date via your registered email.
The SSB is a personality and intelligence-based assessment. It is divided into two distinct stages:
Includes the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). Candidates who fail this stage are sent back on the same day.
Psychological Tests: TAT, WAT, SRT, and Self-Description.
GTO Tasks: Group discussions, obstacle courses, and command tasks.
Personal Interview: One-on-one interaction with the Interviewing Officer.
Conference: Final board meeting to determine the "Recommend" status.
