GIMS Staff Nurse Eligibility 2026 includes the required nursing qualification, registration, experience, age limit, and other conditions for the Staff Nurse recruitment at Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida. GIMS notified 100 Staff Nurse vacancies through direct recruitment under the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Examination 2026.
Before applying, you should check whether you meet the prescribed educational qualification, Nurse and Midwife registration, experience requirement, and age limit. You must fulfil all applicable eligibility conditions by the last date of application.
You can meet the educational qualification through either the B.Sc Nursing route or the GNM route.
You are eligible through the B.Sc Nursing route if you have either of the following qualifications:
B.Sc Nursing: A 4-year course from an Indian Nursing Council or State Medical Faculty recognised institute or university.
B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic): A 2-year course from an Indian Nursing Council recognised institute or university.
You must also be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
You can also apply with a Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (G.N.M.) from an Indian Nursing Council-recognised institute, Board or Council.
Along with the GNM qualification, you must:
Be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
Have 2 years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital.
Gain the required experience after acquiring the prescribed educational qualification.
Therefore, a GNM diploma alone is not sufficient. You also need the prescribed nursing registration and two years of relevant hospital experience.
The age is calculated as on 1 July. You must:
Be at least 21 years old.
Not be more than 40 years old.
The recruitment advertisement also provides age relaxation for eligible categories.
The applicable age relaxations are:
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Uttar Pradesh: Up to 5 years.
Permanent Uttar Pradesh Government employees: Up to 5 years if they have at least 3 years of regular and continuous service in the relevant field.
Persons with disabilities: 15 years in the maximum age limit.
Ex-servicemen: 3 years in the maximum age limit, subject to the conditions given in the advertisement.
Candidates dismissed by the Union Government or any State Government are not eligible for appointment under this recruitment.
Apart from qualification and age, you should also check the following conditions before applying.
The date of birth mentioned in your High School or equivalent certificate will be considered for determining your age.
If you are already working in regular service, you must present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.
You must fulfil all prescribed eligibility conditions by the last date of application. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria or provide false information or hide important facts, your candidature can be cancelled at any stage.
Provisional admission to the CBT does not confirm your final eligibility. GIMS can cancel your candidature later if you are found ineligible.
Candidates selected for appointment must undergo the required medical examination.
Your candidature can be cancelled if you are involved in cheating, misconduct, indiscipline, misbehaviour or other prohibited activities. You may also be debarred from the current or future examinations.
The Institute's decision regarding eligibility or ineligibility will be final. GIMS also does not provide individual consultancy or advice regarding eligibility, so you should check the prescribed conditions before applying.
