HPRCA Staff Nurse Stage-Wise Selection Process

The selection process evaluates candidates on their knowledge and verifies their eligibility. Below are the stages involved.

Stage 1 – Written Examination

This stage is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or an OMR-based written screening test. It assesses candidates' professional knowledge and general aptitude.

Qualifying Cut-Off Marks

• General / EWS: Minimum 45% (54 Marks)

• SC / ST / OBC / WFF: Minimum 40% (48 Marks)

 The objective-type screening test has 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark.

  • Syllabus: Part A covers subjects up to the essential qualification level (B.Sc. Nursing/GNM). Part B includes General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs, Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English, and General Hindi of Matric standard.

  • Qualifying Marks: General category candidates need at least 45% marks (54 marks). SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters candidates need 40% marks (48 marks).

Stage 2 – Document Verification

Following the written exam, shortlisted candidates proceed to document verification. This stage confirms the eligibility of applicants. Aspirants must keep all essential documents ready in advance to avoid disqualification.

 Required documents include:

  • Matriculation certificate for age proof.

  • Degree/Diploma/certificates with mark sheets for educational qualifications.

  • Experience certificates, if applicable, acquired after qualification.

  • Caste certificates, BPL certificates, and other relevant eligibility documents.

  • HPNRC registration certificate.

Candidates must ensure all information provided is accurate. Incorrect details or missing documents can lead to rejection.

Final Merit List Preparation

The HPRCA prepares the final merit list based on performance in the Computer-Based Test and successful document verification. For multiple-shift CBT exams, scores are normalized using the Z-Score Method. 

The Aayog uploads the final merit list on its official website. After the merit list release, recommendations are sent to the respective Appointing Authority. A category-wise waiting list is also prepared to fill any vacancies if selected candidates do not join.
