Candidates who qualified in the computer-based entrance examination held on July 24, 2026, and whose names appear in the merit list are eligible to attend the offline allocation rounds. The counselling process includes document verification followed by seat allotment at the institute campus.

 Document verification for the Post Basic course takes place on August 13, followed by seat allocation on August 14, 2026. For the four-year BSc Nursing course, document verification is scheduled for August 17, followed by counselling on August 18, 2026. Shortlisted candidates must report in person with all required original documents and prescribed fees to secure admission.

The institute conducts offline seat allocation rounds at the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE) auditorium within the PGIMER campus in Chandigarh. Shortlisted candidates must review the official dates and reporting times:

PGIMER BSc Nursing Merit List & Cutoff Criteria

Admission to nursing programs at PGIMER Chandigarh is based strictly on performance in the computer-based entrance examination. The official PGIMER BSc Nursing merit list is prepared according to the candidates' entrance test marks and category cutoffs.

• Candidates called for counselling are equal to up to three times the total available seats in each category.

• Only candidates who satisfy the minimum cutoff percentile are shortlisted for physical verification.

• The total intake for the 4-year B.Sc. Nursing program is 93 seats (open exclusively for female candidates).

• The total intake for the B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) program is 62 seats (co-educational).

PGIMER BSc Nursing Counselling Process Steps

Candidates selected through the merit list must complete the following stages at the offline venue to finalise their PGIMER nursing seat allotment:

1. Check Merit Status on pgimer.edu.in:

Visit the pgimer.edu.in counselling updates section and download the rank list PDF to confirm your counselling eligibility status and shift timing.

2. Offline Document Verification:

Report in person to the NINE Auditorium at PGIMER Chandigarh on the designated verification date with all original certificates and self-attested photocopies.

3. Seat Allocation & Interview:

Participate in the seat allotment call during the counselling session. Seats are offered strictly based on rank order and available category slots.

4. Fee Submission & Medical Checkup:

Pay the prescribed admission fee on the spot via bank demand draft or online card payment, and complete the medical fitness examination to confirm admission.

Mandatory Documents for PGIMER BSc Nursing Verification

Candidates must carry all original certificates along with two sets of self-attested photocopies on their assigned verification date. Digital copies or DigiLocker files are not accepted during offline verification:

1. Entrance Exam Admit Card: Printed copy of the official PGIMER entrance test hall ticket.

2. Rank Card / Scorecard: Copy of the published merit list result page showing total marks.

3. Class 10 Certificate: Proof of date of birth and secondary education marks.

4. Class 12 Marksheet & Certificate: Senior secondary education mark sheet (for 4-Year B.Sc. Nursing).

5. GNM Marksheets & Registration Certificate: Diploma marksheets and State Nursing Council registration (for Post Basic candidates).

6. Category / Caste Certificate: Valid SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwBD certificate issued by competent state or central authorities.

7. Identity Proof: Original Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License.

8. Passport Photographs: At least 4 recent passport-size photographs matching the application form.

PGIMER BSc Nursing Counselling fee details are given below:

• Payment Method: Selected candidates must pay all applicable fees on the spot via Demand Draft (DD) or Banker's Cheque issued directly by a bank (personal cheques are not accepted).

• Payee Name: Drafts/Cheques must be drawn in favour of "Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh".

• Failure to Pay: Failure to submit the required drafts on the spot will result in immediate cancellation of selection, and the seat will be offered to the next candidate in order of merit.

• Fee Structure (Two Separate Drafts Required per Course):

  • B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic):

    • 1st Draft/Banker's Cheque: Rs. 850/- (Course Fee)

    • 2nd Draft/Banker's Cheque: Rs. 5,000/- (Security Deposit)

  • B.Sc. Nursing (4 Years):

    • 1st Draft/Banker's Cheque: Rs. 835/- (Course Fee)

    • 2nd Draft/Banker's Cheque: Rs. 5,000/- (Security Deposit)

  • B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic): August 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM (Candidates must be seated in the auditorium by 9:00 AM). Counselling takes place on August 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM (Seated by 10:00 AM).
