Preparing for a competitive nursing exam is often filled with uncertainty, especially when you're just starting your career. For Tejendra Raghav, graduating from B.Sc. Nursing in 2024 marked the beginning of a new challenge. While he had the determination to succeed, he lacked a clear roadmap for preparation.
Today, Tejendra has successfully cracked the RRB Nursing Superintendent 2024 examination. Looking back at the moment he checked his result, he recalls the anxiety and excitement that made the achievement even more memorable.
"Bahut accha lag raha hai ma'am, raat ko main toh search bhi nahi kar raha tha, aur friends ka phone aaya ki RRB ka result aa gaya hai, check kar tera toh ho gaya hoga. Toh maine naam daala aur dekha, uss waqt sabse zyada dar lagta hai jab aap apna naam dalte hain aur search karte hain ki kahin agar aapka naam nahi aaya toh kya hoga. Darte darte maine kiya bht accha laga ki ho gaya."
Like thousands of aspirants, the wait for the result was nerve-racking. But when his roll number finally appeared on the merit list, months of preparation, failures, and persistence suddenly felt worthwhile.
Tejendra's preparation journey began immediately after completing his graduation and internship. Although he had completed his nursing education, he realised that academic knowledge alone wasn't enough to crack competitive examinations. He needed a dedicated approach and the right guidance to begin his preparation.
"Aaj ke hi din 2024 main maine graduation kiya tha, Graduation ke Pehle internship ki thi BSE Nursing ki, mujhe ek base chahiye tha, mujhe kuch idea nahi tha, Physics Wallah ka naam bahut suna tha, inki site dekhi credible site lagi mujhe and fir join kiya Aarogyam 1, kuch 700-800 ka course tha, internship ke baad main ghar pe aapke padhta tha, notes zyada nahi banata tha, and wahan se Mohit Sir ki video dekhi MSN ki and wahan se confidence bana, ek accha base bana mera."
Joining PW's Aarogyam course gave him the foundation he was searching for. Instead of trying to figure everything out on his own, he focused on understanding concepts and gradually building confidence through dedicated learning.
Success did not come in his very first attempt. Like many aspirants, Tejendra appeared for multiple nursing recruitment examinations before finally making it to the RRB Nursing Superintendent merit list.
"RRB Nursing Superintendent mera pehla exam tha, Jan-Feb maion CRE ka exam diya, usme lag raha tha ho jaega, lekin general category main 600 rank pe nahi hua, fir NORCET 8 diya ki Pre main laga ho jaega, aur mains main kuch gadbad kar diya. Fir himmat haarne laga tha maine, fir BTSE ka exam diya tha lekin use Pehle iska result aa gaya."
Missing selection in CRE despite a good rank and falling short in NORCET 8 could have discouraged anyone. There were moments when he felt like giving up. However, instead of stopping his preparation, he continued appearing for exams and improving his approach. That persistence ultimately paid off when the RRB Nursing Superintendent result was announced.
One of the biggest challenges Tejendra faced was not a lack of hard work but a lack of direction. He had access to multiple books and resources, but organising that information effectively was difficult.
"Mujhe padhai ki direction nahi pata thi, organised tarike se nahi pata tha. Organised way main padhne ka guidance mili. GS-GK main padhne main dikkat aati toh uski notes banaye. Jitni books se main padhta tha knowledge ko ikkatha kar leta tha."
Dedicated guidance helped him prioritise what to study and how to study it. Instead of reading randomly from different books, he learned to consolidate information, prepare notes for subjects like GS and GK, and study in a more organised manner. This change made his preparation more focused and productive.
During his preparation, Tejendra realised that many students spend too much time creating different strategies for different nursing examinations. According to him, mastering the fundamentals is much more important.
"Alag-Alag exam ki alag-alag preparation nahi hoti hai, padhna toh nursing hi hai, main agree nahi karta. Upper level ka padh lo, lower apne aap ho jaate hain. Paper agar tough aata hai toh kisi ek bacche ke liye nahi hota hai, sabke liye hota hai. Elimination method har exam main kaam ata hai. Kisi bhi bacchhe ne agar basic acche se padh rakha hai toh waise bhi selection ho jaega. Basic bahut IMP hai."
Rather than preparing differently for every examination, he focused on strengthening his nursing concepts. He also emphasised using the elimination method while attempting questions, a technique that can significantly improve accuracy in objective examinations.
His experience reinforces an important lesson: when your basics are strong, adapting to different exam patterns becomes much easier.
Knowledge alone is not enough to perform well in a competitive examination. Practising under exam-like conditions played an equally important role in Tejendra's preparation.
"Mock test se confidence aata hai, main test series main 30 mins Pehle khatam karne ki koshish karta tha. Tabhi aap exam hall main pressurised situation handle ho jata hai. Har baar yahi soch ke mock test do ki main paper hai, toh real exam bhi easy ho jata hai. Meri main strategy thi ki baar baar revise karo."
He treated every mock test like the actual examination and intentionally practised completing papers early. This helped him stay calm during the real exam and gave him enough time to review his answers. Alongside mock tests, continuous revision remained the core of his preparation strategy, allowing him to retain concepts and improve consistency over time.
Tejendra Raghav's journey from an uncertain graduate to an RRB Nursing Superintendent 2024 qualifier highlights the importance of dedicated preparation, strong fundamentals, and resilience. His success was not built on shortcuts but on learning from failures, following organised guidance, practising consistently, and revising regularly.
For nursing aspirants preparing for upcoming recruitment examinations, his experience offers a practical reminder that every unsuccessful attempt can become a stepping stone toward success. With the right direction, disciplined preparation, and confidence in your basics, achieving your goal becomes far more attainable.
